Senate Climate Dodge: Tom Steyer gives $50 million and all he gets is a lousy all-nighter

Democrats control the Senate with 55 seats, and on Monday night into the wee hours of Tuesday they staged a talkathon on climate change on the Senate floor. Majority Leader Harry Reid led the band of 28 or so Democrats in this grand political commitment. "We're not going to rest until there is action on the most pressing issue of our time, which is climate change," declared freshman Democrat Brian Schatz of Hawaii, in remarks typical of the long evening.

The all-nighter is best understood as a donor maintenance exercise. Hedge-fund billionaire Tom Steyer has pledged to raise and spend $100 million, including $50 million of his own money, to elect Democrats this year and he cares deeply about climate change. But who knew he was such a cheap date?

Billionaire Tom Steyer’s donations to Democrats are OK.

But when the Koch Brothers do their own donating, they are attacked...

The DimoRats are working overtime to keep the focus off of the total disaster of Obamacare.

Global Warming: The sham goes on.

If he dies from lack of sleep that's not our problem.

I do hope a sitting U.S. Senator calls out Dingy Harry Reid on this - and requires him to compare and contrast Steyer and the Kochs.

President Ronald Reagan called out these lying liberal socialists over their blatant hypocrisy ....

“I've never been able to understand why a Republican contributor is a 'fat cat' and a Democratic contributor of the same amount of money is a 'public-spirited philanthropist'.”

An excellent way for Congressional Dems and Obama to raise awareness of Global Climate Change is for Obama to write another executive order (like the one about the new minimum wage): “The Federal workforce will reduce its carbon footprint by: 1. reducing work-related air or train travel by half as compared with the previous year; reducing work-related automobile travel by half when the distance traveled exceeds 5 miles and exchanging automobile travel for bike use when work-related travel is 5 miles or less. In addition, all Federal workplaces will set their thermostats at 80 degrees F in summer and 60 degrees F. in winter.
