ARIZONA GOVERNOR VETOES RELIGIOUS FREEDOM BILL
AP ^ | 2/26/14 | BOB CHRISTIE

Gov. Jan Brewer on Wednesday vetoed a Republican bill that set off a national debate over gay rights, religion and discrimination and subjected Arizona to blistering criticism from major corporations and political leaders from both parties.

Brewer's decision defused a national furor over gay rights and religious freedom.

The bill backed by Republicans in the Legislature was designed to give added protection from lawsuits to people who assert their religious beliefs in refusing service to gays. But opponents called it an open attack on gays that invited discrimination.

The bill thrust Arizona into the national spotlight last week after both chambers of the state legislature approved it. As the days passed, more and more groups, politicians and average citizens weighed in against Senate Bill 1062. Many took to social media to criticize the bill, calling it an attack on gay and lesbian rights.

True and funny since liberals seem to think Arizona is the most conservative state in the union...

Unfortunately, religious people will not do this. But there are lots of people who dislike gay marriage and are not above a few extra ingredients in the cake mix. In perusing my usual gay blogs, they never seem to think about this...

Also, not a huge fan of Bush, but he never attended a homosexual wedding, neither did Laura. The senior Bushes did though.

I told everyone here on Sunday there was zero chance she would sign it. The legislature needs to go back and re-write a statute that specifically carves out certain professions for protection, gain her signature, and add to it later. They were naive to just rush this out there and not think there would be a national blowback.

So a person who is homosexual goes to a cake maker and says he wants a cake which represents his homosexual lifestyle…….please put some icing on the cake with the pictorial of a man having penile-anal sex…..grotesque pornography……the baker has no recourse in Arizona. He has to do it or he is in violation of the law. Does anyone know what sanctions there are for noncompliance.

Paint me a shade of “not exactly surprised”.

What a joke.

“You don’t think there is some way to oppose the deviancy that is becoming mainstream in the country without becoming part of the Taliban crowd?”

Of course there is. But not by prescribing selected doses of Leviticus. That is all I am saying.

“I’ve been thinking the same thing! If the government is going to start forcing bakers to violate their religious conscience and bake wedding cakes for same-sex couples, then I say what a more glorious opportunity to make a sudden on-the-spot “pit stop” while mixing the ingredients!”

Haribo gummy bears. Lots of them. Might change the plans for their “wedding” night.

Over at the London newspaper, The Guardian, the left-wing Brits think that Arizona is a state located in the deep south that fought in the Confederacy. I’m not making this up.

We should never underestimate the genuine stupidity of libs!

The truth about homosexual behavior. This is celebrated because these people live in darkness and are blind to the truth.

Warning: very graphic-

Had a feeling this would be the outcome as Gays and their media framed the message first and Christians targeted by them were silent.

Oh, the old Ex Lax in the chocolate cake trick! I’m ashamed to say as a teenager in charge of props in an amateur play (The Odd Couple), a friend and I did this to an actor we really disliked. Gosh, we probably nearly killed him!

As Gertrude Stein said, the reason gay men take drugs is to palliate the guilt and disgust they feel after committing such acts. How could they not?

I suspect she got a call from the stinky turd on a stick in the WH...just like Justice Benedict Roberts got before the SC odongocare vote. Both of them were probably politely reminded of what was in their NSA files and that it would be real a shame if that info just showed up in the media.
After all, the turd said it had a phone and a pen. It likely used the phone in this case.

Don’t worry. Due to this and other unprincipled decisions and manipulation, I don’t think she has a chance at reelection. She won’t have my vote.

As much as I’ve had enough of the gay movement, I have to agree with the governor. These real life situations would all be protected if the governor signed the bill into law.

1) Muslim store owner tells a customer with an aide dog to leave the store.

2) Muslim taxi driver refuses a fare carrying a bottle of wine to a party

3) Muslim waiter refuses to serve a woman wearing a low cut top

4) Target checkout clerk refuses to ring up your bacon purchase

5) Muslim hotel clerk refuses a room to an unmarried couple.
