On Sean Hannity’s Fox News show on February 19, guest Anne Coulter and Hannity got into a heated discussion about the nature of the Tea Party on its fifth anniversary. While both are Tea Party supporters, Coulter differentiated between “people in America who call themselves Tea Partiers [who] are fantastic” and the “con men and scamsters” who “trick good Americans into sending them money, claiming we are fighting for you and they aren’t fighting for you.”
“Basically anyone who claims to be going after establishment Republicans, the key word there is ‘Republican,’” Coulter said. “If we don’t elect Republicans, I don’t care which Republican, we will not repeal Obamacare.” She continued, “The only way to repeal Obamacare is to elect Republicans. It is not to be fighting against Republicans.”
Coulter said that everyone has “got to read” Thomas Sowell’s column, “Cruz Control,” published on Feb. 18, in which the prominent conservative economist and author criticizes Ted Cruz for weakening the Republican Party in order to remake it as a more pure conservative party in the long term. Sowell argues that such a strategy may bring America past the point of no return with respect to both Obamacare and the larger erosion of personal freedoms. She also pointed out that groups that attack Republicans would face less media scrutiny than groups that attack Democrats.

When Hannity asked why the Republicans could not force the issue on the Keystone pipeline, the debt ceiling, and a host of other issues, and implied that the GOP had given up the fight, Coulter replied, “Fight to give them a majority then we will repeal Obamacare and have the keys to the pipeline.”

The problem we have is bigger than Obamacare. Now we realize that the Republicans don’t represent conservatives and furthermore, they play for the other team.
so electing more republicans so that they can overturn Obamacare for us just ain’t happening no way no how.

Your argument is premised on the idea that the GOPe is on the side of conservatism. Not even that... that they're on the side of anything LESS than omnipotent government. How much more will it take to prove they are not? The "field that exists" is ALL of them -- Dem, Repub alike -- fighting conservatives and mainstream Americans. There IS no distinction in kind between the socialists and "weak" Repubs. "Weak" is a euphemism for "onboard with Dems."
And they didn't defund it when they had the chance.
Liberal republicans are worse than liberal democrats, because you enable the liberal republicans to do exactly what the liberal democrats want.
You are the reason Obama has no borrowing limit. Your liberal republicans that you support and enable did that. And fought conservatives to do that.
So, no sale, on getting me to vote for a liberal. Not even a liberal republican.

1. A PAC that spends most of its money on candidate assistance, be it independent ads or direct assistance. Those are public records in the FEC or a state elections bureau.
2. If not a PAC, it better be running a lot of issue ads that target a bad apple or protect a good one.
If it's not doing either, it's worthless and does nothing to support changing the status quo. I don't want my $100 going to consultant con jobs.

That is what the split majority said back in pre-Nazi Germany. Some of them said it before they ended up in concentration camps. For people who think that Obama is the devil incarnate, I would think that ANY lesser evil would be better. And I don’t see how keeping the few conservative republicans (Cruz, Lee, Paul) in the minority works in my favor.
If you spent half the amount of time working for conservatives, the world would be a better place.
Bottom line is that if you run liberals, you will continue to lose.

You are proving my point. The field that exists consists of Dems and Republicans. From my perspective, there are a handful of decent conservatives among the Republicans, but we need to elect more and also empower the few that we have. So, I vote in the primary for the most conservative candidate, then vote for the Republican even if it’s the one I didn’t want. It would be great to clean the slate and start with all new people, but that is not the field that exists. My argument is not based on the notion that the GOPe is on side of conservatism, but that even the most liberal Republican is to the right of Harry Reid. And if they only vote my way 1 time out of a l00, that is still better than never at all. That is the field that exists.

The “Republican” restaurant can only give me my correct pizza one time out of a hundred. But the only other restaurant (Democrat) will serve me dog food instead. There is no other restaurant. I like pizza better than dog food. Again, this is the field that exists.
And as long as you keep that attitude, the “Republican” restaurant WILL NEVER CHANGE. It’s time for a hunger strike!!!!
It will change, but not overnight. Give people like Cruz, Lee and Paul a chance. Isn’t the fact that they are in the Republican party proof of that? Democrats have learned to be patient and make gains incrementally. They did not do that by electing a third party. Like I said earlier, I always like to hear that hard core leftists are voting for Ralph Nadar.
Not nearly good enough. My vote (and my family) is worth more than that and it’s primary season so I’m voting for the whole damn conservative enchilada.

Does “time to stand” mean let the Democrats have control of all three branches? Will that be good for my family? How much damage will that do short term? Long term?
I heard he's getting rid of the tobacco subsidy. This involves a final payout to tobacco farmers so nobody's too happy about it, but it is something.
Your question, though, is one that the Huffington Post and Daily Kos ask all the time (with the "nothing" assumed to be the answer).
I'm not sure the assumption that getting one's name on a lot of legislation would really be success for a Republican is a valid one, but the fact that liberals actually hate McConnell so much isn't something to sneeze at.
What do you think is happening now? Really? I’ve voted for Bush, Dole, W. - both times, McCain (Palin, really) and Romney. I’ve watched as these men fight conservatives with barrels blazing and yet roll over and appease who you (and I) consider the real enemy. I witnessed pure Reagan hate at the Republican convention in 1984 from GOPe purists. What am I to deduce from all this?
The fight is not between D & R or liberal and conservative any longer (and hasn’t been for a good while). It is the entrenched DC versus US.
