Anne Coulter: 'Shysters' who attack 'establishment' GOP risk control of Senate
Examiner.com ^ | February 20, 2014 | David W. Thornton

Posted on 02/20/2014 11:54:30 AM PST by SoConPubbie

On Sean Hannity’s Fox News show on February 19, guest Anne Coulter and Hannity got into a heated discussion about the nature of the Tea Party on its fifth anniversary. While both are Tea Party supporters, Coulter differentiated between “people in America who call themselves Tea Partiers [who] are fantastic” and the “con men and scamsters” who “trick good Americans into sending them money, claiming we are fighting for you and they aren’t fighting for you.”

“Basically anyone who claims to be going after establishment Republicans, the key word there is ‘Republican,’” Coulter said. “If we don’t elect Republicans, I don’t care which Republican, we will not repeal Obamacare.” She continued, “The only way to repeal Obamacare is to elect Republicans. It is not to be fighting against Republicans.”

Coulter said that everyone has “got to read” Thomas Sowell’s column, “Cruz Control,” published on Feb. 18, in which the prominent conservative economist and author criticizes Ted Cruz for weakening the Republican Party in order to remake it as a more pure conservative party in the long term. Sowell argues that such a strategy may bring America past the point of no return with respect to both Obamacare and the larger erosion of personal freedoms. She also pointed out that groups that attack Republicans would face less media scrutiny than groups that attack Democrats.

. . . .

When Hannity asked why the Republicans could not force the issue on the Keystone pipeline, the debt ceiling, and a host of other issues, and implied that the GOP had given up the fight, Coulter replied, “Fight to give them a majority then we will repeal Obamacare and have the keys to the pipeline.”

I guess you are not totally committed to getting rid of 0bama and his communist policies. Punishing moderate Republicans has a much higher priority than purging the government of radical communist democrats.

Got it; you think moderates are a bigger threat than 0bama...

Ann Coulter is a Republican not a Conservative. If she were around when Reagan was challenging the GOPe she would be condemning him.

I’m not really concerned about GOP control of the senate as they don’t do anything other than aid democrats, Skinny Mini, so how about you shut up for a change.

What’s the difference between a moderate Republican and Obama? A moderate Republican will walk across the aisle and help Obama get his policies thru. So yeah defeating moderate Republicans is just as iimportant as defeating Democrats.

Coulter’s point is that the country is in immediate danger of being steamrolled by something much worse than liberal republicans.

That is always the excuse, or some variant, given by the GOP-E for having no fidelity whatsoever to conservative principle.

You apparently have the beaten-wife syndrome.

Time to stand up and fight!

Ann's partially right, but explained it horribly.

A lot of these national tea party groups are con artists. A friend of mine who is a GOP county chair did a little digging on the FEC site and saw little in candidate assistance. He's doesn't consider himself tea party, but he is conservative and gets along well with the tea party groups in his area.

One of the local tea parties in his county is also warning us of the scam as well. Retakeourgov is hq'ed in the county north of mine. They have their own PAC's which do help candidates and do good work up there.

If you're going to donate to a national group, make sure it's one worth donating to that helps candidates and not some fatcat consultant taking us for a ride.

Not everyone who says they are tea party - are. I'd donate to retakeourgov before I donate to most of the clowns out there.

“Time to stand up and fight!”

Yes, but you have to fight on the field that exists. While we are busy fighting weak republicans, the real battle is being waged between die hard socialists/communists and main stream Americans. RINOS need to be gotten rid of at opportune times, but kept if keeping them is better than any Democrat that keeps Harry Reid in charge.

People on this site are such patriots. Good and caring Americans. But it is better to support any Republican over any Democrat, even a conservative Democrat. Wouldn’t it be great if Cruz, Lee, and Rand were in the majority instead of the minority? Do you think fine men like these will cop out when they have more power? Or will they fight for us from a stronger position?

I know I always loved it when I heard a far left Democrat was voting for Ralph Nader. They were wasting their vote and helping the Republican. Of course, I didn’t tell them that. Just like no one except a few (Coulter, Sowell) will tell us when we do the same thing.

Sorry, but what you posted does nothing to prove that "a lot of these national tea party groups are con artists".

Sure, there are a small number of bad apples, but I've seen no conclusive evidence that a large # of them are con-artists and you have done nothing to prove your point.

And I won't vote for any liberal. Ever. Lots of folks feel the same.

2012 was the very last time I voted RINO. Never again.

I have been battling many GOPe pukes on various threads here over getting rid of the RINOs.

The GOPe pukes are railing that a liberal Republican is better than any RAT. B.S.

If more and more Conservatives vow never to vote RINO then the GOPe can be defeated. They will know running Statists wont cut it.

Politically destroying all RINOs should be the first goal of Conservatives..

Sorry, but you seem to be ignoring the history of the GOP-E over the last 10 years where they have refused to fight, claiming they would fight later, on conservative issues. They are not even holding the line, they are backing up on issue after issue, because they are afraid of Obama, and the Media COUPLED WITH, they aren't really conservatives, as their lying, as exposed by Ted Cruz, has proven.

You gain nothing with the GOP-E in charge of the GOP. Nothing except surrender and acceptance of the left-wing agenda all the while they are lying to us about how conservative they are.

Mitt "I have always been Pro-Life" Romney was the perfect example. After proclaiming he was a Severely Conservative Governor of Massachusetts and that he had Always been Pro-Life at CPAC at the beginning of 2012, he turned around on August 27th of that Same year AFTER the primaries had been completed and stated he had ALWAYS been in favor of abortion in the cases of Rape, Incest, Life and HEALTH of the mother.

He further doubled down by supporting the Gay Agenda in the following aspects:

1. Gay Adoption
2. Gays in the Boy Scouts
3. Gays in the Military

And this is just one example of one horrible GOP-E politician.

"Our" GOP-E leaders are firmly in the back-pockets of big corporate donors and the Chamber of Commerce. They represent their corporate Campaign Donors, before they even think about the citizens they actually represent as their continual attempts at Amnesty prove and their refusal to stop Obamacare when they could have.

We have heard your tired tune too many election cycles and we have not seen any positive results, but a continual erosion of our liberties and freedoms and what amounts to a knife-in-the-back from the GOP-E in terms of representing our conservative principles.

Spare me the "our guy is less evil then their guy" dance.

I'm not dancing to that tune anymore.

Ann Coulter is a GOP-E, Karl Rove tool.

She proved that when she endorsed Mitt Romney and lied about him being conservative.

You are correct, but there's a faction here on FR that is so, so willing to kiss and make up with her. Heck, there are even some who call for pictures. Poor devils have such poor eyesight.

Your liberal republicans are giving Obama everything he wants without a fight. That's why they have to go.

And your republicans aren't moderates. They are liberals that pass bills that Nancy Pelosi wants passed.

The change in status quo may have to wait in order to put the brakes on the Dems....

&&&
I would agree with that assessment if the RINOs we have in Congress could be counted on to apply said brakes, but we cannot count on them to do any such thing.

Again,we need to fight on the field that exists.

I am shocked, shocked to learn that politicians are double talking, two faced hypocrites. But that is reality. I do not believe these RINOS will fight on conservative issues if they stay in power, but I do believe that even among the worst of them, they are better than Obama and Reid. And as much as I like Cruz, Lee and Rand Paul, I fully expect to be disappointed by them at some point. They are politicians after all.

And the “our guy is less evil than their guy” is true. Not a single RINO voted for Obamacare. That alone proves it.

Democrats have done very well the past fifty years by gaining things incrementally and being patient. Leftists are playing chess. If we want to play piñata instead, we will lose. And keyboard bravado and inflated egos now will not help our kids and their future.

Oh, she gets it. But she also sees the benefit of shooting off her mouth in a way that will get her face time on TV, which is the most important part to her.
