Anne Coulter: 'Shysters' who attack 'establishment' GOP risk control of Senate
Examiner.com ^ | February 20, 2014 | David W. Thornton

On Sean Hannity’s Fox News show on February 19, guest Anne Coulter and Hannity got into a heated discussion about the nature of the Tea Party on its fifth anniversary. While both are Tea Party supporters, Coulter differentiated between “people in America who call themselves Tea Partiers [who] are fantastic” and the “con men and scamsters” who “trick good Americans into sending them money, claiming we are fighting for you and they aren’t fighting for you.”

“Basically anyone who claims to be going after establishment Republicans, the key word there is ‘Republican,’” Coulter said. “If we don’t elect Republicans, I don’t care which Republican, we will not repeal Obamacare.” She continued, “The only way to repeal Obamacare is to elect Republicans. It is not to be fighting against Republicans.”

Coulter said that everyone has “got to read” Thomas Sowell’s column, “Cruz Control,” published on Feb. 18, in which the prominent conservative economist and author criticizes Ted Cruz for weakening the Republican Party in order to remake it as a more pure conservative party in the long term. Sowell argues that such a strategy may bring America past the point of no return with respect to both Obamacare and the larger erosion of personal freedoms. She also pointed out that groups that attack Republicans would face less media scrutiny than groups that attack Democrats.

. . . .

When Hannity asked why the Republicans could not force the issue on the Keystone pipeline, the debt ceiling, and a host of other issues, and implied that the GOP had given up the fight, Coulter replied, “Fight to give them a majority then we will repeal Obamacare and have the keys to the pipeline.”

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldn’t make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan

Exactly what has McConnell done for the country over the last 30 years?

Coulter said. “If we don’t elect Republicans, I don’t care which Republican, we will not repeal Obamacare.”

DOES ANN FORGET THAT WHEN WE HAD CONTROL OF THE HOUSE AND SENATE THE REPUBLICANS WANTED TO PASS AMNESTY? AND IT TOOK GRASSROOTS SCREAMING CONSTANTLY TO KILL THE DAMN THING?

Ann Coulter is a GOP-E, Karl Rove tool.

She proved that when she endorsed Mitt Romney and lied about him being conservative.

She's got it exactly backwards!

"Establishment" GOP who attack conservatives and the Tea Party risk control of the Senate.

“The only way to repeal Obamacare is to elect Republicans.

You got to elect the right Republicans.
Chuck Hagel, Lincoln Chafee , Susan Collins, Olympia Snowe, John McCain, Jim Jeffords etc. were elected as Republicans.-Tom

I read what Cruz told Rush about the Republicans in the Senate, and Coulter is dead wrong. This is crunch time for our republic if it is going to survive and boner and the turtle, et al, will only damage us further. It’s easier to win a battle when the lines are clear.

We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately -- Ben Franklin at the signing of the declaration of independence.

That said, GOP-e Republicans have weakened the brand. What Cruz and TeaPartiers are trying to do is to make it clear just what being a Republican means.

The #1 impediment to Conservative power is the GOPe / Democrat Lite rump of the party.

A complete Republican takeover of the Senate with the current “leadership” will not change Federal Spending one iota.

the “con men and scamsters” who “trick good Americans into sending them money, claiming we are fighting for you and they aren’t fighting for you.”

Ann, of course by this you mean Mitch McConnell and John Cornyn, with their "show votes", right? Senator Cruz is calling them out on it ...

I will tell you the single biggest surprise in arriving to the Senate is the defeatist attitude here. I mean, we don’t even talk about how to win a fight. There’s no discussion. We talk about, “Hey, let’s get a show vote so we can go tell our constituents we’re doing something.” But I promise you, Rush, if you had to sit through one Senate lunch, you’d be in therapy for a month.

Many of these are my friends, but they’ve been here a long time, and they’re beaten down, and they don’t believe we can win. They don’t believe it can happen, and the answer they say on every issue is, “No, we can’t do it. We can’t do it.

And Washington, look, in both parties you’ve got entrenched politicians who have barely veiled contempt for the American people. I mean they think their voters are gullible rubes, and, you know, you give them a little show vote, you tell ‘em, “Hey, I’m totally with you,” then they go to Washington and they don’t actually do what they say.

This is so damn confused I doubt any conservative has the slightly idea what to do. The only real thing is to take back the Senate so we can kick Reid in the ars and start getting bills from the House on the floor. All this arguing who is the best doesn't mean a damn unless we get the Senate. Stop trying to be so damn smart we lose again.

Remember, miss Romney yet? Obamacare would not be now.

I guess she’s thrown in her lot with RINOs for the recognition, show time, and interviews on TV over actually sticking with principles.

So what Ann? When the GOPe had the House, Senate and WH they MASSIVELY increased spending and the size of the federal government and LOST IT ALL in 2006 after trying Amnesty then also.

Wrongy-o, Ann. And Sowell is wrong, too. What people need to understand is that we have been betrayed. RINOs don’t feel defeated and they aren’t making mistakes. Their job is to enable and protect the Rats by spreading FUD and doing nothing when they should be fighting back and being proactive. They are very, very good at what they do - the Rats are utterly dependent on them. They are political saboteurs of the highest order.

Coulter had some good points until she fell on her face. It’s the kind of republican you elect, Ann, and you know that. Unite behind the good ones.
