Yawn, another law to ignore...heck I still burn my own trash and that has been illegal for at least 25 years, one of the advantages of living in the middle of nowhere.

Here’s the facts as I know them:

A tree on my acreage that falls and dies and rots releases X amount of CO2.

If I take that same tree and use it for heat, it releases the very same X amount of CO2...no more, no less.

I have heated all through this winter’s cold spell with wood. While propane soared so high it became a matter of governor declared emergency in many states, I was just fine and toasty at home. I do have propane backup.

I heat my water, my house, and my wife’s quilt studio with our wood burning central boiler. I have no doubt that I’m saving energy, money, and even pollution. I allow my trees to replenish. I take down the dead, dying, and unhealthy, because it just makes sense.

I’ve thought of using wood to run a steam generator to power electricity throughout the year.

I’m amazed at the EPA’s hatred of the middle class and poor. Our poor in this county heat with wood and replenish their freezers with deer as their prime source of meat.

I have a small pot bellied stove....if the outside temp gets above freezing I have to crack the doors a few inches!!!

I would say that very few of the boot licking, gubmint loving Libs will be engaged in any 'off grid' type of lifestyles. Those would be your Tea Party and Conservative types who are considered 'dangerous' to the Regime.

They won’t. But they want as few as possible living independent lifestyles at that time, and this is just one impediment to achieving that state.

I know a guy who built his own outdoor wood boiler using two large propane tanks.Cost him under 500 bucks for everything and it works great.

Efficiency does matter.
If you use less wood to heat your house because you burn it completely and keep the heat in your house instead of going out the chimney,

then you will produce less CO2, not that plant food is a pollutant, mind you.

Someone above said he installed one of these “approved” stoves and used half the wood that he did before.

I once heard Michael Savage complaining about all the San Francisco wood burning stoves, wishing they were all outlawed.

San Francisco did exactly that Christmas Eve & Day 2013.

According to KTVU, those who violate the burning ban the first time must either pay a $100 ticket, or take a "wood smoke awareness class." Subsequent violations would result in fines of $500 or more.

AFAIK, this rule isn't about CO2, it's about 2.5micron particulate emissions.

If we're going to hate them, let's hate them for the correct reason. (I think the whole 2.5micron thing is a bunch of BS).
