What a bunch of self-serving, appeasing BS tripe!

Did they just push out a paper report from their butt, or did they actually stand in front of somebody and have to stand up for and justify their conclusions?

I’ve said here often that you cannot trust anything anyone from any agency or part of this Federal Government says.

Apparently, that goes for so-called Republican or opposition interests, too. It actually appears to me that anyone within 50 miles of DC is a traitor or conspirator.

A couple retired SEALs stopped the attack dead in its tracks for several hours, but the full might of the US military wouldn’t have accomplished anything?

Remarkable.

It might be that no “stand down” order was provided. If Obama does nothing isn’t that thhe equivalent of a “stand down” order? I also dont believe we know that the outcome would not have changed if the military had acted. That is complete BS. The attack lasted hours.

Do you personally know the military was told to stand down in Benghazi? Have any evidence? If there is no evidence, what do you want the House Republicans to do? Lie about it?

The report is damning enough if it says the administration’s ineptitude resulted in the deaths. Putting our citizens in a situation where the military can’t protect them isn’t quite as bad as telling the military to stand down, but it’s bad enough.

What did Hillary promise to the RINO elite to let this annoying Benghazi thing go away?

I assume none of you have read the report yet.

You're all letting a triumvirate of Mediaite, ThinkProgress and MediaMatters make their spin on the report the dominant theme. I don't know what is actually in the report yet and I will wait to read it myself.

If these liberal spin on the report gets to dominate the early news cycles, the later corrections on what's actually in the report, will look like excuse making rather than real news.

Don't help them do their job.

Sorry but I’m not buying this bullshot.
We just had a letter from a military guy(I don’t have permisiion to name him) who told us that there is no way worse case that jets from Italy could not have taken care of the situation post haste. An hourto get to benghazi and a couple of passes with a low flying fast jet well armed and it would have been all over. This is all bullshot.

The military might of this nation can do NOTHING if they are never called into action. That is why the Joint Chiefs of Staff are under the Commander In Chief, who was himself AWOL.

It was 3 AM, the phone was ringing, and nobody was answering.

I would like to see a campaign ad run against Herself, Madame Benghazi, the Cold & Joyless, incorporating that very line, in the 2016 Presidential election. At the very least, it will make a number of not very patriotic residents of that territory once known as “the United States of America” very uncomfortable.

Exactly. The military may not have been “positioned” at Benghazi but I think some jets attacking the Jihadists might have made a heck of a difference.

“There was no ‘stand down’ order issued to U.S. military personnel in Tripoli who sought to join the fight in Benghazi,” the report says

Legal weasel words. Cross Border Authority was Denied.

They also are confusing by using the term “stand down”, which has military connotations that aren’t readily apparent. The report said that the military was ordered to remain in place, rather than affirmatively ordered to stand down. They were told to, instead of go to help, to stay put. To stand down would be to cease all operations, which is beyond telling them to not go and assist.

How did they know that it would be over in 6 hours from the start? I’ll accept that they couldn’t have changed the outcome the way it played out.

But I want to know why they weren’t doing everything they could to get the military there as soon as possible. They should have assumed that it could go on for 24 hours with everyone dead so I don’t accept the excuse that “it was over in 6 hours and we couldn’t have done anything”

“Stand Down” was the order.

No. “Stay in Tripoli” was apparently the order. A “Stand down” order is more than just “don’t go to help”, but rather a “don’t interfere, and cease all active operations.” In this case, either order means that no assistance is given. See it for what it is in context: a technicality, which still means an attempt to assist was refused.

I can’t believe the military wouldn’t have helped. However, it’s true that there was no standdown order because they were never called in the first place. Some of those who knew what was going on offered to help, but they couldn’t do so without an order, and it never came.

That’s what the report is telling us.
