Dr. Benjamin Carson, the former director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital who is considered a possible GOP contender for the 2016 GOP nomination, told Newsmax TV on Monday that he and his family have been personally targeted by the IRS in retribution for his frank critique of President Obama’s policies at the February 2013 National Prayer Breakfast. Carson said audits and other harassment began in May or June of 2013 and gradually expanded to include family members, associates, and his charitable endeavors. "I’ve been quite I would say astonished at the level of hostility that I have encountered," Carson said in an exclusive interview with host John Bachman on "America’s Forum" on Newsmax TV. "The IRS has investigated me. They said, ‘I want to look at your real estate holdings.’ There was nothing there. ‘Well, let’s expand to an entire [year], everything.’ There was nothing there. ‘Let’s do another year.’ Finally, after a few months, they went away. But they’ve come after my family, they’ve come after my friends, they’ve come after associates."

As I have observed the last few years of media bias, I think conservatives should just ignore the media completely. The media will never treat a conservative fairly, so why even acknowledge them? How could that be worse than being treated as they are now? Just put out whatever press releases you need to and move on.

Conservatives by and large are getting what they deserve in the media, particularly with tv. Talk radio and this forum will piss and moan about how unfairly CNN, msnbc, etc treat them as they are writing the check to pay the cable to which directly subsidizes those same outlets. Seems all that fake reality teevee and 24/7 sports are more important to them. I have about as much sympathy for conservatives complaining about the media as I do for pathetic housewives who keep going back to a loser who beats them.
The current administration is corrupt. It has turned the irs into a modern-day gestapo/KGB.
I bought a few of his books as my way of showing him support.
Where are our brave GOP “conservatives” in Congress and in the media to defend this good man and the courageous women who have suffered because they head TEA Party groups? Not a peep from these cowards, because they don’t want to be on Obama’s hit list. That’s how dictators get their power.

I do believe that the ‘power of the purse’ that the public holds is of great importance.
Let me take the side of scum. Scum, actually I think you mean mold/algae, is an important link in the food chain. As such, it is a useful form of life.
We aren't looking at scum. We are looking at fascists, plain and simple. They might be baby fascists, proto fascists as it were, but they are well on their way. Given enough time they will become adult fascists. 21st century information gathering will provide them with all the tools they need to rule while ruthlessly crushing any opposition to the regime.
The parallels with nazi Germany are frightening. The IRS really is the new gestapo, and they are using it. They have targeted a group to blame for all of societies ills. They have various police and quasi police forces ready to suppress the population. The entire main stream press has been co-opted.
Very few people understand how dangerous these times are for America. All that is needed is one big crisis to declare martial law and (dare I say it) suspend elections. There are a dozen crisis brewing.

Most of the IRS crooks were working there long before Obama. This is a systemic problem. The enemies of conservatism aren’t limited to one party.

Obama’s got the goods on all of them. They’re afraid of him. Very afraid.
Nixon talked about using the IRS against his political enemies. Clinton did so. El-Presidente has turned it into an art form.

I agree with perfectly. As much as I have tried to convince low information voters and leftist just how dangerous the regime is, it is nearly impossible to do so. They just cannot make the connection between the activities Obama and the Dems are currently doing and Nazi Germany, despite the almost perfect parallels.
