To say the least, I was very much shocked, very much saddened to see this headline, not knowing that the gay Overlords that have deemed to intrude, impose gaydom, their depravity, their sick, demented way of life on all, every aspects of humanity no matter what. Is there no respite, no refuge for those who want to be inclusive based on the most normal, natural aspects of society? First it was that gay Football player who was touted as the Jackie Robinson of our day in breaking down barriers. I made a comment on that post earlier saying that Baseball even before Jackie Robinson ought to be offended by the comparison.

And now we have another social tragedy occurring today even more of an abomination.

If I find a certain, individual, group offensive to my sensibilities, you mean to tell me I have no recourse but to suffer the mental anguish of being within their midst just because the courts have decided so?

I think that it is a most repulsive thought, and very much impinges on my freedom. Freedom not to associate myself with people of their ilk, to be in their presence simply because it offends me.

And now, having them achieve the highest rank is by itself a point to decry, simply because it has turned gaydom and all the nefarious, horrible things it is, into something to be admired, to be emulated, as something to aspire to.

But Boy Scouts of America only accepts gay men under the age of 18, and with Tessier’s 18th birthday quickly approaching this August, his future in the BSA is anything but secure. “It’s kind of a backhanded acceptance: We accept you for now,” Tessier said. “It says to you you’re a monster of some sort.”

Jennifer Tyrrell (L) of Bridgeport, Ohio, speaks at a news conference as Pascal Tessier, 16, of Kensington, Maryland, wipes his eyes at a news conference held at the Great Wolf Lodge May 23, 2013 in Grapevine, Texas. The Boy Scouts of America today ended its policy of prohibitting openly gay youths from participating in Scout activities, while leaving intact its ban on gay adults and leaders. Jennifer was kicked out of the scouts as a Cub Scout den leader in 2012 for being openly gay. Pascal, who was told by Scout leaders that since he was openly gay, he could not attain the Eagle Scout rank, but was permitted to remain a Scout, will now be able to resume his pursuit of the Eagle Scout rank.

In this Monday, Feb. 4, 2013 photo, Pascal Tessier, 16, center left, a Boy Scout, and his brother Lucien Tessier, 20, who had earned the rank of Eagle Scout, pose for a portrait with their parents, Oliver Tessier, left, and Tracie Felker, at their home in Kensington, Md. The two Tessier boys enjoyed Cub Scouts, progressed to Boy Scouts, and continued to thrive there even as many in their troop became aware that each boy was gay. The family is grateful for that, but fervently hopes the BSA's top leaders officially scrap the ban so that open acceptance becomes the norm for Scout units nationwide.

In a Dec. 2013 interview with NBC4, Tessier called the policy change bittersweet. Once he turns 18, he can no longer participate in scouting activities as an openly gay man. He told News4’s Chris Gordon that he will continue to fight for equality.

“I want to see adults be able to say, ‘I am openly gay and want to teach them how to become leaders’,” he said.

“On my 18th birthday, I’m planning on applying to be an adult leader for the Boy Scouts so that we push the issue,’’ he said.

Zach Wahls, an Eagle Scout who has gay parents and formed the group Scouts for Equality, compared Tessier’s experience with University of Missouri football player Michael Sam, who came out publicly before the NFL draft.

“This is about showing people that you can be honest about who you are and setting that example and showing that’s OK,’’ he said. “That’s what Pascal is doing.’’
