Just hours after DNC Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) conceded that Democrats arent likely to win control of the House of Representatives this fall, Politico ran a story noting that many high-dollar donors are shifting their focus to the Senate races in which vulnerable Democrats are running:
With Democrats grasp on the Senate increasingly tenuous and the House all but beyond reach some top party donors and strategists are moving to do something in the midterm election as painful as it is coldblooded: Admit the House cant be won and go all in to save the Senate.
Their calculation is uncomplicated. With only so much money to go around in an election year that is tilting the GOPs way, Democrats need to concentrate resources on preserving the chamber they have now. Losing the Senate, they know, could doom whatever hopes Barack Obama has of salvaging the final years of his presidency.

” in an election year that is tilting the GOPs way”
How interesting that the Dems are saying this outloud and in print.
Well Dems, Why oh why is this year tilting the GOP’s way?
Boner better hurry up and cram through Amnesty before the Dems really lose...
These people are NOT "Democratic". They are "Democrat".
Are Republicans "Republicanic" or Libertarians "Libertarianic"?
No and no.
From the link in the linked article: “Im not going to confidently predict that Democrats will take the House back...”
This is dangerously close to speaking the truth plainly, for a liberal, anyway.
Wow, is she in BIG TROUBLE...
Do you really think Democrats would use their money to rope-a-dope Republicans into supporting “Immigration Reform” BEFORE the 2014 elections?
What a concept!
Somebody better warn the RNC...
A lot of people have lost their houses because of the Democrats. It is only fitting that the Democrats should lose their House for decades. It would be justice for them to lose the Senate too.
I hope the GOP can take the Senate. I believe it’s an uphill fight, but the road has been getting smoother the past few months thanks to Obama’s missteps and a country that seems to be waking up at last.
A Senate majority for the GOP would be a huge win. Dingy Harry is Obama’s last effective ally in the Congress. Moving him to minority status would change everything.
Of course, I have no great love for the antics of many of the GOP Senators. But, one battle at a time...
Why? Even if you managed to convince them, they'd just call the DNC and tell them to save their money, cause they'd do it for free!
I think they’ll make up ground, but not win the majority. Probably end up somewhere between 50-50 and the short end of 52-48.
Certainly not win a veto-overriding majority.
We’ll pick up 7 seats.
“Are Republicans “Republicanic” or Libertarians “Libertarianic”?”
I understand your concern over nomenclature. However, I am of the opinion that many Libertarians are “Libertines.” They should be addressed as such.
I don’t care what you say — I think she’s HOT.
The GOP in charge of the Senate changes nothing. Most of the Senate is Liberal in both parties. Power sharing will be back.
So, Thomas Jefferson, Ronald Reagan, Ron Paul and Rand Paul and thousands of other people who believe in liberty rather than laws are "libertines"?
Seek help.
