Skip to comments.New frontrunner in GOP’s 2016 New Hampshire primary: Mitt Romney, of course

Gut-check time: Am I enough of a hack to blog a poll as silly as this purely to goose my readers with a frisson of anxiety over another Romney run? Even by the usual hot-garbage standards of early presidential polling, this ones hard to redeem. Theyve got a guy in the lead whos definitely, assuredly not running per the Mitt documentary, he only ran in 2012 because he knew he was next in line for the nomination and theyve omitted two guys in Marco Rubio and Scott Walker who very well might be. How informative is a poll like that? Even on a slow news day, it would take an unusually desperate hack to treat it as noteworthy.
So here you go.
If Romney were to run, he currently holds a lead in the New Hampshire Republican primary, with 25% of the vote. While Romney says he is not likely to run, it is instructive to note that he continues to cast a shadow over the primary at this early stage. He serves as a convenient parking lot for Republican voters who are waiting for other candidates to develop.
Of non-Romney candidates, Rand Paul has 18% of the vote, essentially tied with Chris Christie (17%), with Jeb Bush receiving 13%. Ted Cruz (7%) and Bobby Jindal (5%) round out the GOP candidates tested in this wave of the PurplePoll.
Theres truth to that, actually. Mitt leading the field here is tantamount to undecided leading the field....

nope. next. fumr. and your horse. and mccain. and jeb. and ryan. and graham. and lamar.
Wasn’t 2012 bad enough?
I’m all for dropping New Hampshire completely.
Talk about a stupid state for the GOP’s 2nd Primary!
My head is spinning. Mitt would need to pull a big giant Rabbit out of his Top Hat early in the game for this idea to go anywhere. Hey! What did agent 007 say? Never Say Never. I think Richard Nixon also ran three times.
Maybe Mitt plans to run on:
“Not as bad as Obama”
“Romney care is not as bad as Obama care”
“Same health care, different party”
“Not as bad with taxes”
... I can think of a few others.
Well, Connery ended up saying “Never say ‘never again’” with respect to playing 007 . . . it was Debora Iyall of the band Romeo Void that said “Never say never”.
Willard in one word ?
Hey maybe McCain can run again, what can possibly go wrong..EVERYTHING!
I was thinking more of "He is a Black Socialist and I am a White Socialist..."
And then I thought "He is a punk-ass-bitch and I am a bitch-ass-punk..."
And then I thought...
I thought Perry was the best conservative candidate. It’s unfortunate he didn’t get very far.
Someone here told me he had just had back surgery or something like that.
But is he?
As far as I know, he did have back surgery and was hampered by his medications. If he had won, he spoke about actually shutting down the EPA and the getting the feds out of education.
Unfortunate for illegals perhaps. Or cronies. Or vaccinate mfgrs.
this is a bad joke, right?
