I’m telling my fellow Texans not to become complacent.

Exactly. People who think Texas is a solid, crimson-red state are mistaken. Texas is going through the same demographic changes as the rest of the country. Austin has long been a liberal enclave but now Houston and San Antonio have turned blue as well. You've got a large Hispanic population and there's a lot of out-of-staters who've recently come to Texas for the jobs and brought their liberal voting habits with them.

I believe Texas is turning purple and Wendy Davis stands a very real chance of being elected Governor.

I think it won't be a walk for the GOP but I don't seen TX going blue yet. As
you say the demographics are changing and will ultimately impact statewide races.
The dem comtrol in well define areas and do have a lot support their.

Gov. race you had counties, Dallas, Jefferson, Harris, Bexar, Travis, El paso area,
and the border counties. The rest were red, although smaller in population.
Perry won by some 12.5%. The gender factor will change the dynamics of this year
a lot, imo.

yep. Population centers where the dependency class is the majority can swing a state. I think it’s going to be damn close

That’s a chilling prospect.
Not so much that Abortion Barbie would be governor but that would signal the guarantee of Democrats controlling national elections forever.
