Liz Cheney is ending her campaign to be the next senator from Wyoming, dropping her primary challenge to Republican incumbent Mike Enzi.
The daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, in a written statement released Monday morning, cited health issues in the family.
"Serious health issues have recently arisen in our family, and under the circumstances, I have decided to discontinue my campaign," she said. "My children and their futures were the motivation for our campaign and their health and well-being will always be my overriding priority. ... Though this campaign stops today, my commitment to keep fighting with you and your families for the fundamental values that have made this nation and Wyoming great will never stop."

the wife had on PMSNBC this AM (yeah...I know...nothing I can do about it) they had a blurb on the screen, a quote from Mary Cheney making a dig at her sister about Mary, her spouse and her kids not being though of as full citizens according to her sister Liz’s politics.

I bear Liz Cheney no ill will, I just thought she was a lousy challenger for Mike Enzi. I’m sorry to hear that she’s having some family issues. Usually that’s code-speak for “I know I’m about to be smacked down” but I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt. I hope it turns out for the best.
