Two survivors of the plane crash off Molokai were sitting directly behind Hawaii Department of Health Director Loretta Fuddy when the aircraft went down Wednesday afternoon. Fuddy died in the crash.

Obama does seem to have unhinged otherwise rational conservatives and turned them into raving lunatics. It’s like they just can’t accept that Obama is in office for the next 3 years, and there is nothing short of a miracle that will change that. So they latch on to any theory, no matter how crazy or far-fetched, as if that might be the damning thing to take him down.

I guess the prevailing assumption is a high-level conspiracy to protect the Pres, or something to that effect. If they were going do away with her, couldn’t they have come up with a simpler, less problematic way? I mean, this is like those Bond stories where they pick the most impossible method to kill Bond.
I agree with you. While Obama is great at out-thinking himself and talking ahead of his quite-small brain, his handlers probably know how to deal with threats simply and quietly.

If they wanted to take her out there are easier ways to do it than complicating it with a plane crash and 9 other passengers.

The problem with plausible deniability is the plausibility of the explanation, whether the event was a fictional conspiracy or a real conspiracy.
At present it appears most plausible that the Pratt & Whitney PT-6 turboprop engine suffered a catastrophic failure, probably due to the separation of a turbine blade in the engine. Since there have been a number of other such PT-6 engine failures reported in recent months and years, it is certainly plausible there is an as yet undiscovered problem with these engines. If so, it is more plausible the engine failure was due to an accidental mechanical failure rather than a failure due to some form of sabotage.
The death of Loretta Fuddy due to hypothermia and complications of such exposure and/or the trauma suffered in the landing is highly plausible and most likely, with or without the existence of any conspiracies. All of which makes the task of separating the real from the fantastic exceedingly difficult, if not impossible. The public can only keep itself as well informed as the oppotunities present themselves and act responsibly while recognizing the plausibility of an accidental fatality.
People watch way too many movies if they are thinking this is how anyone would actually plan to kill someone.
Exactly. That and the draw of a seeming romance or intrigue of a conspiracy.

I still can’t find any report on the cause of her death. The autopsy was supposedly done last Thursday.
The beeping could have been the stall warning system going off.

Some people can survive in 78F water for a prolonged period of time, while other people in poor physical condition and/or having just suffered physical trauma often may not. The SST (Sea Surface Temperature) of 77-78°F was low enough to eventually bring about a lowering of body core temperature to the range for mild hypothermia at 90-95°F, moderate hypothermia at 82-90°F, or even severe hypothermia at 68-82°F. Trauma suffered when the aircraft ditched in the sea could very well have contributed to a more rapid onset of hypothermia as the heart rate, blood pressure, and respiratory rated dropped. Under such conditions, especially in the presence of aggravated hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia, you can see heart problems become a risk for fatality.
It is untrue to say, “most of the people on board swam to the shore quite quickly.” Only one person swam to the shore, a 70 year old former Army Ranger in good physical condition, and he took about an hour to swim the mile to shore as the currents swept the survivors farther out to sea away from the crash site 400-500 yards offshore. The other seven passengers and one pilot did not swim to shore, but were transported there by helicopters.
Although aircraft arrived within the first half-hour after the crash and observed the survivors from overhead, it took more than an hour for the rescuers to arrive and begin taking the survivors out of the water.
