Mark Landsbaum: Climate alarmists' search for proof going cold
Orange County Register ^ | 2013-12-13 | Mark Landsbaum

Recall global warming hysteria’s halcyon days? Just 13 years ago, Dr. David Viner, senior scientist at Britain’s University of East Anglia’s climatic research unit, confidently predicted that, within a few years, winter snowfall will become “a very rare and exciting event.”

“Children just aren’t going to know what snow is,” he said.

Of course, that doesn’t mesh with what happened. This past October, the UK Express headlined, “Worst winter for decades: Record-breaking snow predicted for November.”

By the end of November, Brits were shivering, “as Britain faces snow, ice and plummeting temperatures,” reported the Mirror newspaper. “Most of Scotland has been issued severe weather warnings for ice, and temperatures are expected to remain low, causing problems with snow and ice across the country.” Winter yet lay ahead.

We shouldn’t pick on Great Britain. There is plenty of global warming foolishness here at home. Recall James Hansen, global warming guru whose alarmist campaign was underwritten by his NASA paycheck. By the 2020s, Hansen predicted in 1986, the U.S...

--snip--

Arguments against specious temperature measurements are too numerous to list here. But consider this: Two separate satellite temperature data sets agree that whatever warming may have occurred peaked in 1998, and stopped around 2000. Ground-temperature records say 2006 or 2010 were hotter, and that the warming trend continues.

Worse yet, temperatures used by warming advocates collected from land-based thermometers are continually “adjusted.” They don’t remeasure the temperature. They change it. As Australian climate watchers David Evans and Jo Nova point out, “they are still changing the temperature record for the 1970s, 30 years later, and always in the direction of making recent warming seem worse.”

We are told to trust people, who never seem to adjust questionable raw data to lessen the alleged threat...

While the fat fraud al-Gore remains a multimillionaire, a large portion of the left has gone silent about global warming. The @-holes aren't using the “climate change” canard as much, either.

Back to the future (1975): Earth entering a new Ice Age

Back to the future....if the Sun doesn't produce a good crop of sunspots by 2016...expect another mini ice age...

The last one lasted 400 years, from 1350 to 1750.

Our planet is billions of years old.
We only have information about it that is INFESTESTIMAL. That being said ANY prediction for climate is a waste of time.

They haven’t given up yet.

“One of the few known facts about Interstellar‘s plot is that it features a group of explorers who travel through a wormhole to seek out the far reaches of the universe, but fresh story details from the Fort Macleod Gazette reveal the motivation behind the mission. That motivation is… climate change! More specifically, a crop famine that has been brought about by the effects of climate change, with corn as the last crop to be cultivated.”

Well ... the next big thing coming down the pike right now is Global Cooling. It’s likely to be like the “little Ice Age” of a few hundred years ago.

We’re entering that now. See the following ...

Predictions aren’t useless. We’re entering a period of cold from disappearing sunspots ...

It won’t produce a good crop of sunspots, because the magnetic field that produces sunspots has been in a straight line decrease - and we’re just a few years away from the time that the magnetic field is no longer able to produce sunspots.

At McDonald observatory abut thirteen years ago, watched a film depicting the earth as a small stone moving through a stream of fiery particles from the sun, kept from burning up only by a magnetic field that allowed the formation of a thin film of air and water on its surface. The wonder is that we are here at all.

I was talking to a UT prof about “Global Warming” 12 years ago at a restaurant in Tennessee.

I asked him why he thinks anthro-global warming is real.

He explained that the rate of warming is “off the charts”.

He is full of shit. (it is late-nite TV, right?)

All of you Global Warming Idiots can take your political weather socialism and shove it up your collective ass.

This is America.

You are correct. It’s the sun that warms the rock we call Earth. In fact, the sun bombards our little rock with thousands of times the energy consumed by all the activities of man. It’s relentless in it’s bombardment and we feel it’s heat every time we stand outside on a sunny day. When the sun is not as active and does not transmit as much energy to our surface it cools.

Man is inconsequential to the temperature of our globe.

Here in North Texas the city, county and even the state governments must have bought into the Gore-Bull warming hype. For in the past they had detachable snowplow and sanding units for the dumptrucks. During last weeks big ice and snow storm not a plow or sanding unit was to be seen. Can only assume that they’ve been sold off to cronies at scrap or lower prices because according to Gore-Bull warming they were no longer going to be of use.

OK!! Everybody pay attention!

Lesson for today:

1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.

2. The sun is a ball of fire that controls our climates.

3. The earth is a rock.

4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.

5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.

Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?
