I thought autopsies were public information.

Not all. The year before the Sandy Hook shooting, the freaky coronor pushed a bill through the state that autopsies of children would be banned from the public. Just another coincidence.

In Texas, it used to be (could be still) that autopsies were done on everyone, except the elderly, no matter how they died. Didn't matter if it was obvious the person died from drowning, falling off a ladder or had been terminally ill. It could be a money grab or cya for the local government.

Was confronted with a similar situation today involving a minor matter. A young individual (question if this was an actual individual) told me that federal law prevented me from changing something for my spouse. Since when does federal law prevent me from changing something for my spouse and that if I attempted to change this I would be in violation of federal law. So do a favor for my spouse became impossible because of federal law. This matter involved nothing more than a cell phone but because I was not on the account I could not discontinue email billing. Have to have my spouse call an 800 number to change. So here Americans go. Federal Law prevents one from doing a request for a spouse. Also informed me of something else. Federal law does not recognize State law. Have encountered this when dealing with feds at the State level. Had to threaten the fed official with a suit of 10th Amendment to even begin a conversation with the federal official. What a mess ... the Law has become.
