Adulterers may be stoned under new Afghan law, official says

(Reuters) - Death by stoning for convicted adulterers is being written into Afghan law, a senior official said on Monday, the latest sign that human rights won at great cost since the Taliban were ousted in 2001 are rolling back as foreign troops withdraw.
"We are working on the draft of a sharia penal code where the punishment for adultery, if there are four eyewitnesses, is stoning," said Rohullah Qarizada, who is part of the sharia Islamic law committee working on the draft and head of the Afghan Independent Bar Association.
Billions have been invested on promoting human rights in Afghanistan over more than 12 years of war and donors fear that hard won progress, particularly for women, may be eroding.

So long as its muslims killing muslims, I have more pressing concerns.
I think videos need to be posted of actual stonings on left leaning web sites, the reality is much worse than the image that gets pictured in the mind. Also good to let the lefties know that this is punishment for rape, or just for being caught having sex whether the woman is actually married or not, plus make clear that just the accusation of a male is enough for a conviction whether fhe woman did anything or not

If the threat of stoning truly kept people on the straight and narrow, it would at least have a reason to exist ... but it doesn’t seem to. I guess as long as there are stones, there will be stonees.
I’m under the impression that being stoned affects one’s performance.....
Who wants to bet that it’s mostly women who get stoned?
Finally, close the U.S embassy, leaving a sign on the door that reads:
"So long, you bunch of illiterate boy-buggerers. In the future, if any terrorist activity toward America originates in Afghanistan, you better have lots of potassium iodide stocked up. Fall-out is a bitch."

I have seen some videos of stonings; not pretty.

Bet only women get stoned.
This is both a traditional Hebrew and traditional Muslim punishment for adultery. It doesn’t make them “Taliban” to do it. As long as it’s their internal affairs and their internal laws, so be it. While I’m uncomfortable with it, I’m even more uncomfortable with the notion that we’d try to force “liberalization” on them (as “liberalize” means “You have to give up your faith and become atheistic, pan-sexual, and slaves of consumer culture... just like us!).
I understand these people want to be left alone to do their thing, but do we have to subsidize their barbarism? Let them resume their traditional customs - without multi-billion dollar annual subsidies.
