Former Vice President Dick Cheney took the side of his U.S. Senate candidate daughter Liz in her high-profile spat over gay marriage with lesbian sister Mary, saying Monday that he was "pained" that the family dispute had become so public, Politico reported.
Cheney and his wife, Lynne, issued a statement noting that the gay-rights issue was one "we have dealt with privately for many years."
"[We] are pained to see it become public," the parents wrote. "Since it has, one thing should be clear. Liz has always believed in the traditional definition of marriage."
The parents said Liz Cheney "has also always treated her sister and her sister's family with love and respect, exactly as she should have done. Compassion is called for, even when there is disagreement about such a fundamental matter, and Liz's many kindnesses shouldn't be used to distort her position."

I blame Mary Chaney, who like all modern-day gays, has decided to become a professional gay. That means it’s gay, gay, gay, every day, every minute. And anyone who disagrees must be publically called out and humiliated.
We saw this with Gingrich’s half sister.

Sounds like a manufactured solution to an awkward problem, to me. I bet it’s phony too; Liz doesn’t oppose homosex any more now than she ever did. Dad and Mary are in on it. Mary’s payoff will come AFTER sister Liz gets elected to the Senate and votes the “right” way (or so they connive).
Cheney has always tried to thread the needle with this issue. It’s clear he shares Liz’s opinion, but never wanted to throw his gay daughter under the bus. She chose to make this a public family debate. I would hate to be in his shoes.

This is exactly what has happened with my friend, whose sister decided she was a lesbian and ended up "marrying" another woman. The sister holds the entire family hostage, threatening to deprive them of her presence unless they constantly offer praise for her lifestyle. Disagreement results in tantrums, and more than one holiday gathering has resulted in the lesbian couple storming out.
When they’re constantly sticking it in your face and demanding approval, I believe it’s because they know it’s wrong, and want you to validate their incorrect choice.
I have gay neighbors. They mind their own business, they’re not “in your face”, they’re friendly, and they don’t demand approval. Which is why we get along so well.
Gays are like illegals or islamophiliacs. They claim we have to be friends with haters and xenophobes who have no respect for our freedom in or der to be free.
