Wait until Zoe goes into shutdown mode while traveling 70mph down the highway, or while transitioning the “hood”, or trying to get Momma to the ER after her water bursts, or while a husband is parked outside the girlfriend’s house...

Gonna be some lawsuits, I bet.

That’s not how I understand it. The car is purchased (by an idiot, obviously) without a battery. The battery is leased separately, by the month.

When the lease expires, the battery will not accept a charge. I haven’t seen anything credible saying Renault can remotely turn off the car as it’s being driven. So, if the battery is charged and the lease expires, the car will still go until the battery is drained.
