My local Asian market gets it’s chicken, pork, etc., from the local Amish farmers. The chicken is smaller, and always delicious. Every couple of months, the big Giant Eagle supermarket has a sale on chicken breasts. 2 for the price of one. They’re huge, and have been injected with chicken juice. Those chickens were the egg layers that have past their prime. Don’t buy them!
The Asian markets live Tilapia come from Erie Pa. Lots of Lake Erie fish, and fresh ocean fish. Good prices.
10 years ago we bought steaks and the package stated, “Artificial coloring and flavoring added” We now only buy from a local farmer or go without. Same will be for chicken.
American industry is just as responsible.

They use it in everything they can because it's the cheapest meat.
I think American Chinese are too smart to trust China.
Matters not. Didn’t a lot of federal food safety inspectors lose their jobs in the last year? Budget cuts? Locally we have zero health inspectors.
That was sarcasm.
But the cognitive dissonance of this place (Big Gov’t Is Bad! Why Isn’t The FDA Protecting Us!) is amusing.
Oh. (oops)
Sorry about that. Good post. :D
what....we’re now going to call for General Tso’s takeout at the source??
That may work for you, I however cannot eat beef or pork, so I’m left with chicken, turkey and fish. Hate fish, turkey I can tolerate once or twice a year. My protein intake is primarily chicken, I stop that and I may as well become a vegetarian. That ain’t gonna happen.
I think the larger point should beto continue to encourage (buy) chicken from those brands that process in the USA and do our best to keep them processing here.
Tyson, Perdue are you listening?
I know with certainty that there are very large quantities of chicken exported to China by the big producers. The specific product is “chicken Paws” . That is the Chinese customs translation of what we think of as chicken feet.
We export unbelievable quantities of chicken. For ever desirable pair of chicken breast parts and wings, there are tons of thighs and legs and backs. The abundance of thighs in particular piles up. The solution is to sell them abroad at very cheap prices. Chicken thighs and turkey drumsticks make excellent rations for African military chow halls.
Sooo how can I tell the difference between an American Chicken and a Chinese Chicken?
On this topic, I had heard that the Chinese poultry would carry a USDA “made in the USA” label...anybody else hear that or can confirm it?
I often buy frozen dinners. I’m not too fond of meat, so I scan the packages and eliminate all that feature meat. What I see in the frozen dinners is CHICKEN, CHICKEN, CHICKEN, CHICKEN, ETC.
It’s a rare frozen dinner that doesn’t have chicken in it.
But...all the Free Trade Communists who support Free Trade with Communist China says Free Trade works! /SARC
Only the most Liberal Free Trade Communist can endorse a program where American grown food has to be shipped to Communist China to be processed. Only a Liberal Free Trade Communist would support such stupidity
No wonder folks like Al Gore, Nancy Pelosi, Barack Obama, George Soros are all supporters of Free Trade
This is so crazy. How do we stop it?
Huge tariffs on Communist China to discourage such nonsense. Send Free Traders to Communist China instead of the chickens...America will be more productive
I believe this.
In the case of canned tuna there is nowhere on the can that states from where the crap originates.
Americans are in the dark about everything concerning their food supplies. Sunnyfield gets sold to the Chi Coms who paid an exorbitant price for the concern just so they could get their filthy mitts on U. S. pork production.
Meanwhile, they keep buying up everything else that they can get by paying these exorbitant prices.
Washington is our enemy. Cupcake is Enemy # 1!
Sarah Palin, and Ted Cruz really should take a strong public position against this bill/change in American law.
Now.
I’m not kidding. Now.
Absolutely right...need to protect America first
