You cannot “equalize tax effects” by raising taxes. All you end up with is higher prices and possible trade wars.
It certainly doesn’t help things when young black men, or teens, or amongst the most dangerous of demographics in America.
Anybody victimized by them would probably find it hard to justify to themselves about hiring them, because it was too dangerous.

And yes raising the tariffs would remove the tax disadvantage that our corporations are at, relative to foreign based manufacturers. Foreign countries pay on average 1% tariff on goods shipped to the U.S.
The tax American companies pay varies on the amount of the labor component in their products but averages about 10%.
And I didn’t “hear it”. I can see for myself what the history of our tariffs were. And I can see for myself that the stores are full of Chinese goods and Americans are unemployed. I’ve watched as American industries were destroyed.
The way our government has structured things, if you are in business, you have no choice. If you don’t outsource and your competitor does, you are out of business. American companies are at a disadvantage selling to our own American market. We need to change that asap.

Raising tariffs exacerbates trade wars rather than relieves them. That’s a simple fact of history.
I see you already admit that the destructive factor is the structuring of federal taxation and regulation. I would throw in social program and entitlement spendings, too.

They’re trying to write a free trade agreement with the USA right now, which indicates that they don’t want a trade war with the USA and don’t fear the USA in that respect, take note.
Also take note that Germany’s corporate taxes are way lower than the USA’s. So are Red China’s. Tariffs are taxes; they won’t save the USA, especially in the condition it’s in.
Our trade deficit is so high, I'm not worried about a trade war at all. We don't export that much now anyway.
Raising the minimum wage will not fix this. Nor will increasing immigration, or legalizing illegals. Progressives will crush blacks, and hand them trinkets like EBT. Unfortunately, blacks will vote for that because progressives “care.”
