When Frogs Jump (Is this finally how the SHTF?)
AmericanThinker.com ^ | 10/25/2013 | Daren Jonescu

Progressives expose their true nature when their slowly heated pot is categorically rejected by the frogs. The mirage of "politics as usual," bipartisanship, and collegiality lasts only as long as men acquiesce in their own enslavement. Of course, a little public disagreement here and there is good for progressive optics, as it perpetuates the comforting illusion of open debate. But what if that little disagreement turns into an all-out refusal to go gently into that good night?

This, as I've explained before, is the plausible path to conservative victory before the final collapse. Make no mistake about it: this is not a happy or short road, nor one embarked upon lightly. Dispensing with "politics as usual" means exactly what it says, and more. It means initiating and sustaining a strategy -- more than that, a life -- of continual resistance and provocation, i.e., of living as free men and women under authoritarian rule. And when progressives are provoked into extreme frustration, their rage knows no bounds. No bounds. For, mainstream mythology aside, we are not talking about a civil political faction here; we are talking about the ancient tyrannical impulse that, in its peculiar modern manifestation, has concealed itself in the garb of "democratic" civility, with horrific success. Strip off that finery and witness the old bloody thuggery of ages past. These people will not stand for serious, sustained opposition. They will crush it, by any means necessary.

And this may be the secret to their undoing, in the long run. To provoke them, through practical resistance and theoretical debunking, into doing and saying what they have spent a century pretending they would never do or say, is to expose their true nature for all to see.

This bears repeating (with emphasis)...
And when progressives are provoked into extreme frustration, their rage knows no bounds.

No bounds.

“But there may be a substantial minority — many more than are fully engaged now — who will be shocked out of their detachment when they see what their leaders are really capable of doing.”

That’s all that’s needed. As long as this substantial minority is willing to go all the way when the time comes.

pretend you represent their cause and will act as their spokesmen; mouth the right words while quietly compromising all the underlying principles; and finally change the subject entirely... (RINO's MO)

Jonescu nails it. Great article.

Somebody finally gets it. Resist. Refuse. No more go along to get along. We can’t coexist with these people.

Outstanding and enlightening article. and for the most part they are "STILL" winning (progressives) for they seem to be the only ones willing to "fight" (and spill blood?)

We need leaders who do not operate on the premise that our political enemies are well intentioned but misguided. Until we end that fallacy there will be no meaningful resistance.

John Stewart the other night, when talking with Krauthammer, whined that liberals don’t get enough credit for their intentions.

Seriously, they believe they are righteous because of their intent, even though their results are invariably more misery.

It reminds me when my brother was abusing prescription pain medication, my mother and I used to call him out, and he would just wave it off, say we don’t know what we’re talking about, tell us that he was just tired or not feeling well.

Then he passes out in a drugged stupor and leaves his phone in the kitchen. As we go through his text messages, we learn the lingo and the people with whom he’s associated. When he comes to, we confront him using his language and name names, and he becomes completely enraged, irrational to the point of violence.

This is how it will happen. I can see it. Progressives hate religion, gun ownership, blacks and Hispanics, freedom, in general. When we start getting them to admit it through their own twisted, pretzel logic, they will become irrational and angry.

The next conservative president and leadership in this country will inspire a great number of liberal/progressive attacks. They will be violent, like most leftists are. Throughout history, this has been the case. It will happen again.

I think that is why the GOP is splintering at this point.

A new party is emerging that understands where the left is trying taking us (i.e. into slavery) and it refuses to go there.

I’m not at all convinced that the ‘substantial minority’, in its entirety IS “willing to go all the way when the time comes.”
I’ll be very satisfied if they just stay the hell out of the way and let those of us who ARE willing, get the job done.

" it ain’t that hard to set up a website"

I don't think you are seeing the whole big picture here. While it is true that it setting up a website is not rocket science..... (I can say that with authority since that is what I do for a living), there is a great deal more that has to happen for the ObamaCare website to function. To put it simply, the website has to access multiple databases, some government databases designed God-only-knows-when and with what technology and what program language. Then it has to parlay the data accumulated from them into a formula of sorts that then calculates a particular pricing for an applicant. Then it has to put that together with the input gathered from the applicant's choices and send all that to the data bases of the appropriate insurance company.

Now imagine if you had to pour through outdated file cabinets with files all written in a language you do not read or speak, interpret them, calculate a price based on hopefully the right interpretation plus some information the applicant typed in that may or may not be accurate or complete, then compile it all and forward it to an insurance company whose language you also don't understand. And on top of all that you had little or no training for the job, and what training you did have was confusingly complicated rules and contradicting itself on totally impracticable and changing daily on the whims of a President who makes exceptions for political cronies!

What I am saying is, there is so much more to this disaster than just simply building a website. The databases and the information they contain must be up-to-date and compatible, the "formula" for calculating must be workable and realistic, the rules can't change daily on the whims of politicians.......... and all the above is just not there.

I shutter to think what will happen when this same crumbling, archaic system with it's many errors and maybes, is accessed when some long-nailed, uneducated government worker (think TSA people), is tasked with okaying or denying a medical procedure my doctor needs to do to keep me alive one day soon. When the error message appears on the screen, will the doctor be told to give me as aspirin and tell me try again in a month or so?

I would have no problem cutting anyone some slack who in their heart of hearts intended to do something beneficial but when it failed, were honest enough to admit it and then listen to those who suggested a different path.

A case in point would be Bob Beckel on FOX who takes the usual Progressive lies and digs in his heals even after proven failure, BUT, on one occasion, he showed a sliver of honesty when he admitted the war on poverty had been a complete failure.

He actually said they thought the War On Poverty would help but in actuality it hurt millions after spending trillions.

SHAZZZZZAM! If only such honesty would be the norm instead of the exception we might have less vitriol in this country.

I would hope that the "resistance and provocation" would be limited to only the unconstitutional aspects of government. Those who choose to resist should responsibly obey all laws within the scope of the Enumerated Powers and only oppose actions that go beyond the legitimate power of government. No comment on what fraction of Obama's current FedGov is constitutional.

Not a chance.

Remember all the "conservative" FReepers, parroting the "Sarah Palin reneged on her commitment," meme?

It must be tough to be a "useful idiot" for those you don't even support.
