In the past few years, many cities and local governments have embraced bicycling as a reasonable way to use public roads carving out special lanes, setting up bike-sharing stations and generally making life easier for those who want to travel by two wheels rather than four.
But those moves haven't come without complaint about congestion and special treatment, and just as biking clubs have grown for weekend riders, so has anti-bike advocacy and concerns about who rules the road such as the handmade warning signs above from a pro-vehicle group. In a shocking but not surprising turn, one Texas man now faces charges after being caught on video threatening a group of cyclists with a baseball bat and ending the row by running over a $5,000 bicycle.

Then from that added value they should contribute more for their own roads.

I don’t care if bicyclists contribute to highway taxes or not, and I sure don’t think people in cars have any excuse to cause them physical harm.
But until they start observing stop signs, yield signs and traffic lights like everybody else on the road, I’m sorry but I can’t take seriously their arguments that they deserve equal access.

I see it every day. People use the bike path as a right turn lane because they are the Most Important Person In The World and can’t wait for the car in front of them to go. They also use the bike path as an extra 18” of roadway so they can apex their turn a little faster. Again, it must be awesome to be THAT important!
Farm implements have special rules to limit the amount of traffic they block.
And your assertion that I would intentionally target a cyclist is a nice strawman, but I stated that I don’t do that. You are marked by your strawman as a dishonest debater.
My street has no sidewalks. Should I not be allowed on the street?
Treat bikers like jaywalkers. Do they get consideration? Just enough so I dont actively target them.

I see you understand how I feel about bicyclists who think they are the most important people in the world, who don’t think the rules about stopping at stop signs apply to them, who think that they can move left across the road at 5 miles an hour when the traffic is moving at 30.
And they don’t even pay road taxes.
Just for kicks, remember that the gas taxes paid for those bike lanes too. In CA they even siphon money from the gas tax fund to pay for rail.

They take the bike lane, which in my community is separate from the road.

Guess you bikers should chip in, rather than mooch off others, or learn some road manners.
In california the gas taxes pay for the roads, and more. It is a constant battle to keep the Democrat politicans from stealing from the highway trust fund for bike lanes and other forms of graft.
Note to bikers: Move your bike out of the way when the fat old guy gets back I his truck.
