WASHINGTON — Congressional Republicans conceded defeat on Wednesday in their bitter budget fight with President Obama over the new health care law as the House and Senate approved last-minute legislation ending a disruptive 16-day government shutdown and extending federal borrowing power to avert a financial default with potentially worldwide economic repercussions.

With the Treasury Department warning that it could run out of money to pay national obligations within a day, the Senate voted overwhelmingly on Wednesday evening, 81 to 18, to approve a proposal hammered out by the chamber’s Republican and Democratic leaders after the House on Tuesday was unable to move forward with any resolution. The House followed suit a few hours later, voting 285 to 144 to approve the Senate plan, which would fund the government through Jan. 15 and raise the debt limit through Feb. 7.

They announced every single one of these bloated tax paid government employees will be paid every penny they didn’t earn while sitting at home watching movies..

Try that in the real world

I’d say Topeka is fairly conservative. Lawrence is the liberal Mecca. Manhattan don’t know so much.

How about we just get away from Parties, in general.

You’re partially correct, it does have to do w/ electing the ‘right’ people. Those that know and follow the Constitution, as well as the problems gov’t creates. That type of person ISN’T going to be anyone that is already IN gov’t.

But, if anything like the last 2 presidential elections, I’ll again vote for every office where the above is true. Otherwise, there is no reason to give any one/party the semblance of approval by adding my vote to their tally.

As for your last point...I’m not so sure he WOULD have lost.

This is the day that the GOP finally died a long painful slow death via suicide. At least the President and the Vice President of The Republic of Texas stood up and represented us. SECEDE!!!!!!!!!!

They not only kneel at hussein’s feet now, but they also wash his feet with their hair - what’s left of it that is. Next thing you know, the republicans will also “annoint” hussein’s feet with the best oil that our money can buy.

Oh wait.....

That crap ain't gonna work any longer in Kansas.

I hope you're right! That crap fools the stupid sheeple here in the People's Republik of Connecticut (and in all blue states) on a daily basis.

Of course once I posted my question to you last night, I remembered that Kathleen Sebelius and her close personal friend Tiller the Killer both practiced their evil in the State of Kansas...

Hope the good people of Kansas oust all the liberal and RINO trash in 2014 and 2016...

Bonehead needs to be replaced right now.
We no longer need a “weeper of the House”, we need a real man that has the gonads to stand up for what is right for the country and won’t cave in. Boner might as well just go switch parties and get it over with. Pelousi is actually running the House anyway.

“”Look, Barry, we have the votes to stop you cold, and we have decided to use those votes.
We control government funduing and we are going to exercise that control.”

Obama- “Have you seen your daughter’s NSA file, Mr. Republican Congressman? Have you been audited, lately? You should see the stuff we have on your primary fundraiser!”

The chick was one of the staff house recorders. Grabbed a hot mike and got in a few protest licks before they eased her out. I saw it both on the early Blaze and early FOX. Beck has the best version of the audio.

Boehner is a disgrace and should resign immediately. Had the democrats constructed a plan or scenario for how this whole episode unfolded, it would have been identical to what actually happened - all courtesy the genius of Boehner.

We got NOTHING but failure and Boehner should be held accountable and accept responsibility. In a bygone era where honor still counted for something he would already be gone. Now its all about re-writing history in the interest of self-preservation - to our detriment.

The worst part is that this capitulation energizes the Maxistcrats beyond their wildest dreams in their taunting and derision of the Republican’ts. Look for massive pushes by the Party of Satan now for blanket amnesty for criminal invaders, massive tax increases, and all other manner of Marxism, because they know that RINO’s will just roll over or bend over for them.

Compromise? What effing Compromise???

The Rats got everything they wanted.

You're right. This was a total freaking disaster for us.

We're getting killed in the polls. Being blamed for the shutdown may well cost us elections this November not to mention give us a big hole to dig out from next year. We've emboldened the Dems and given Obama a fourth straight win over Obamacare. Even worse, we've distracted the public from its botched rollout.

I'm trying to find the silver lining here. Some republicans raised money off us? Not a good trade.
