Republicans Back Down, Ending Crisis Over Shutdown and Debt Limit

WASHINGTON — Congressional Republicans conceded defeat on Wednesday in their bitter budget fight with President Obama over the new health care law as the House and Senate approved last-minute legislation ending a disruptive 16-day government shutdown and extending federal borrowing power to avert a financial default with potentially worldwide economic repercussions.

With the Treasury Department warning that it could run out of money to pay national obligations within a day, the Senate voted overwhelmingly on Wednesday evening, 81 to 18, to approve a proposal hammered out by the chamber’s Republican and Democratic leaders after the House on Tuesday was unable to move forward with any resolution. The House followed suit a few hours later, voting 285 to 144 to approve the Senate plan, which would fund the government through Jan. 15 and raise the debt limit through Feb. 7.

Looks like “former” Michigan tea partier Dan Beneshek voted in favor along with unsurprising Fred Upton and Mike Rogers.

Those here who remained pessimistic throughout this thing, have been vindicated.

That's the important thing.

"Ryan probably wants to add an amnesty amendment."

I saw a clip of that smirking little SOB striding past the cameras with Boehner. I'd like to put my foot so far up his butt it would straighten out that widow's peak.

Another vote I regret...but I've learned my lesson.

“Democrats can’t think for themselves!”

Evidently 87 GOP just can’t think!

the Dems got EVERYTHING they wanted

Actually, this is not true.

They wanted the debt ceiling raised for a year, they wanted a reversal of sequestration, they wanted the union fee for O-care removed and they didn't want income verification.

The bill was mostly neutral.

All the RINOs must be voted out. It’s the only way I can see going forward.

I will NEVER vote for a RINO again. I don't care. A vote for a RINO especially someone as disgusting as Peter King is a vote for a democrat.

I hope that bum is tossed out for all the hateful things he said about conservatives, and his non stop assault on Ted Cruz. I think he is a complete disgrace.

I agree with you to a point. I will not vote RINO anymore on the National level. I will just not vote, I will not go to the extreme and vote for the 'rat.

On the local election level I will continue to vote Republican.

Didn’t Ryan win by the slimmest margin of his career last election?

Are you asking me personally? I pointed out earlier in the thread that I’d probably rather have a Dem than one of these RINOs because there’s less rhetorical ambiguity placating the conservative base. Clearly the difference between the two is negligible.

Words cannot express my disdain for the surrender monkey republicans. Is there a "Going Galt for Dummies" manual? As it sits today this ship is sinking and I've no desire to ride it to the bottom. It's either CWII to take over command of the vessel, or "Going Galt" to get off it. Something must change.

Team Romney has successfully IMPOSED gay marriage
AND ObamaCARE/RomneyCARE and a destruction of America
in parallel with Obama and the DNC.

The GOP is useless except to serve Communism and al Qaeda.

Are these the men and women who are going to protect us from government abuse of power?

Are these the men and women who will punish the IRS?

Are these the men and women who will stop NSA from spying on us?

I could go on and on and on but what is the point. Hitler has won again.

You have a reason I shouldn't?

The GOP didn't get the year-long postponement on Obamacare. Other than that nothing much happened with this bill except that Obama has to deal with more discussion on the budget now that he and Reid failed to get the debt ceiling postponed for a year like they wanted.

We’re still talking politics, when the coup has already happened. The House just surrendered its Constitutional duty to set the budget and control the power of the purse. They really would have no reason for even showing up, except that they want to collect their checks, use their perks, and network with the power players in DC (the left and the media) who can help them fatten their bank accounts.

We are already under one-party rule, and as that party answers to one man-the thug in the White House and whoever pulls his puppet strings-actually, we don’t even know who for certain we answer to. All we know is that a huge number of Americans have absolutely no representation, and it’s not going change. How many of the ones voting to betray us came in in 2010 under the Tea Party banner? Ayotte, for starters. Then we have the entrenched ones who can’t seem to be moved out with a backhoe. Add to that the leftist infiltrators-I mean that literally-they are leftists who ran as “Republicans” for no other reason than to infiltrate the “opposition” party and destroy it from within, just as they’ve done with the media, academia, the military, the “Christian” church, and now the one major roadblock in their path to totalitarian rule, the so-called “opposition” party.

We are on our own as far as earthly comrades go. The left says that means we’re marginal, a “fringe”. The Bible says that means we are the remnant on the hard and narrow path. Considering what the consensus of the world has decided constitutes “good”, I’d rather be in the fringe.

Amnesty is next. If CommieCare isn’t the final nail in our coffin, amnesty certainly is. The GOP-e wants amnesty even more than they didn’t want to oppose CommieCare in any meaningful way-to the contrary, they fought those in their own party who tried to oppose it. Amnesty is even worse-they support it whole-heartedly.

Then what? The left will have accomplished its goal of a permanent ruling majority, and they mean to rule. Does anyone think that the gloating we saw from Reid, Pelosi, will get any better? No, especially not now. They are drunk, drunk, with power. They are drinking down to the dregs, like the Whore of Babylon.

The Vatican is sending out signals of creeping leftism. The “Christian” church in America, the maimstream of it, long ago gave itself over to apostacy and “social justice”.

We are utterly on our own. Voting is just a motion we go through, a bone the rulers throw us so we don’t look up and realise our democratic republic is dead. Even there, they make sure we can’t interfere with the agenda with rigged primaries, stolen elections, and Republicans who won’t fight the theft. It’s a joke, if it wasn’t more serious than that.

“Fight another day”? Through the political system? So that we get the GOP-e’s handpicked candidates who then still lose, whether in an honest election or a stolen election? Candidates who swear on the holy grave of their mothers that they’re on our side, only to not only betray us but to castigate us for calling them on their betrayal?

Too late for that. It’s bad enough that we landed ourselves a marxist puppet dicatator, but just to dot every i, we got one who’s only personal conviction is his hatred of whites. As for the rest, he’s all for destroying America, but his hatred of whites is what gets his juices flowing, energises him. Otherwise he’s content to follow orders in the destruction of America.

I will never sign up for CommieCare. Never. I don’t know yet in what other ways I can resist, but I’m studying on that. There’s nothing left but resistance. This is no longer the America where the ballot box is the primary agent of representational government. There is no longer such a thing in America. The parasite class doesn’t have “representation”, they have no principles or agenda to “represent”-just give them all the free sh*t they demand and that’s all they need to give their worthless support. They have no stake in freedom, law and order, economic freedom, religious freedom, or any of the rest of our Constitutional freedoms. Just free sh*t.

Nothing is left except resistance.
