Obamacare is imploding. But thanks to the government shutdown, everyone is talking about the implosion of the GOP instead.
The shutdown drama has distracted from the fact that Obamacares debut is worse than many realize and it threatens the fundamental viability of the law itself. The administration claims the Obamacare online exchanges crashed because the Web site got more than 8 million hits in the first week. Please. You know how many people visit Amazon.com every week? More than 70 million. The difference is: 1.) Amazon seldom crashes, and 2.) on Amazon, people actually buy something.

HAHAHAHA! That was funny..!
“They dont intend to manage a simple web site. They intend to force us into a single payer system.”
Well not anytime soon, so long as the worthless GOP is “in charge” of the House. I guess we can thank The Lord for small favors. At least FUBOCare will remain the steaming turd that is is through the next election.
Most of the so called “conservative talkers” are not conservative....and they work for companies that are not conservative
Ugh. I know.
In the cases of Savage and Bennett, too? I place Bennett in a ‘grew up liberal democrat- can’t fully shake it’ category.
Savage, he gets vindictive toward those who won’t come on his show. Ego.
He gets vindictive after they come on, then won’t come back (that’s worse).
Even worse is if they do come on and they are not the ego stroking type, he excoriates them, but then has more credibility in his position.
Best not to go on, but ...
I guess all these people, including friends, who won’t get on board with the shake up, they don’t understand, the republican party is fine. It has been taken over, thankfully, and effectively, in recent weeks, and the old guard is out.
These people even the two I’ve mentioned, are talking about the republican party of pre filibuster. In that sense, Cruz was off, but only in the sense that there is any hope that the old guard would ever be successful against the democrats, which they are not and definitely are not.
McCain should have retired on running for prez and having lost should be out. He gave that election to Obama. He will never win against the dems.
These guys are out and whatever Cruz and Lee do, let ‘em. They’re doing SOMETHING.
Where is Mr. Incredible when you need him?

The possibility of refusing funding provides people one last hope for an alternative to the sense of inevitability of an entitlement that has been passed by congress and survived challenge in the supreme court. Its fueling opposition.
If this writer thinks there's a chance Obama and his nanny state will recognize that their healthcare law isn't working and chuck it all he must be smoking too much dried RINO dung.
First lie. It's thanks to the lie-scribblers at the Washington Post and their complicit JournoList co-liars that strings, chains, lemming-hordes of liberal talking heads can come on Gwen Ifill, Judy Woodruff, and Charlie Rose's shows and decant their venom.
Liberal journos used to "lean left". They hardly bother with leaning any more -- they just lie, endlessly and without consequences to themselves.
I don't think any big company is "conservative" on the subject of employer-paid healthcare. They want it gone, dead, and the moneys dropped down to their bottom lines.
If that means you get stuck with Stalincare or Mengelecare or Molochcare, well, tough. You should have worked up to vice-president like me; I'm all right. The company's got my back.
Like with the public school system.
I went to the comment section and there was no options to like the comment..
And then life in the good ol’ USA starts to strongly resemble the movie “Brazil”.
bump
Some people will be pushed that way soon. Its all pushing in that direction, it will be the only way to “fix” Obamacare.
The GOP establishment is supporting it.
These computer problems are just a small bump in the road to totalitarianism.
Yes, and I’m so excited to punch my SS# into that train wreck.
The solution will be for the government to throw more money at it.
” the result of structural flaws in system architecture. It is going to take months to rebuild it.”
I have been saying similar things in other posts.
1. They can’t fix it in a couple months. The faster they try to fix it, the worse it will become.
2. When something has a flawed structural architecture, you don’t fix it! You TEAR IT DOWN!
3. In this case don’t rebuild it, just go back to the processes in place before. If they cry “single payer” the answer is that they cannot possibly make it work! Can’t make Obamacare work, cannot make single payer work.
4. This techno-disaster is an embarrassment to the United States all around the world.
5. This intro to Obamacare is a great disservice to the citizens it is supposed to serve. How can Obama and HHS sit there and tell people they have to go through this convoluted mess? wasting how many hours of the time of real people, and putting their private data on the line?
6. The shut down and Obamacare are inherently linked.
The Obamacare “gateway” or “portal” is in relationship to the Barrycades. Tear down these Barrycades! Tear down this Gateway to nowhere!!
7. There has to be an Inspector General or Judge who can shut down the “gateway” to Obamacare as it is not working.
You get the picture.
When did they begin writing the massive software program? What 3 or 4 years ago?
Ask any software professioinal, and they will tell you that unstable requirements, no experienced management personnel, and development personnel with a poor track record will guarentee DOOM on a project. And you can’t test quality into bad software - testing reveals errors, and every fix you make has a high probabililty of introducing more errors.
These are the reasons that government agencies almost always hire an integration contractor for large software projects. I wonder if HHS was just plain ignorant, or whether they tried to hire one and no one wanted the job.
