This is where the rubber meets the road in Rush’s so-called “Limbaugh’s Theorem” where the voters do not associate Obama with his policies that are wrecking the place. Republicans need to be adamant and direct in their tying Obama to a refusal to negotiate with a House of Representatives that was elected to stop the healthcare law that bears his name.
If Obama is in fact getting blame in the polls, as he should, he has made a tactical error that will give Republicans an opportunity to pin many of his other policies directly on him. This has not registered with a wide swath of the public with only a casual, MSM informed “knowledge” of the circumstances.
There are plenty of film clips where Obama is essentially bragging of his refusal to negotiate.

Harry Reid is super nasty, so nasty he could care less if Obama dumps some of the blame on him. He could care less. He knows his role in this good cop-bad cop routine

Kind of counter intuitive as Obama is not up for reelection while those in the Senate are. Figure he would be the one to fall on his sword for the good of the party rather than the party falling on the sword for Obama’s historical reflection.
Obama is beginning to desperately need someone to get him out of the Shutdown mess he’s gotten himself into — just as he needed Vladimir Putin to get him out of last month’s Syrian fiasco.
But there is no Vladimir Putin figure in the Democratic party capable of restoring the pre-Shutdown status quo now that the Republicans have effectively taken over the government.
The Shutdown can go on indefinitely and become the new normal, since all necessary government services are being provided — which is the last thing Obama wants. But how can Obama prevent such a thing from happening if he’s not willing to negotiate an end to ObamaCare NOW, since every day the Republicans grow stronger while Obama and the Democrats degenerate daily into increasingly pathetic schoolyard bullies yelling bad words at the Republicans?
