Obama Putting Up More Barricades at World War Two Memorial This Morning

The Obama administration is adding more barricades at the World War Two Memorial in Washington, D.C. this morning, according to reporters on the scene.

The reinforcements are being put in place apparently to prevent a repeat of yesterday when WWII veterans aided by several Republican Congressmen pushed aside barricades to visit their memorial.

Buzzfeed got no response from the White House last night when queried about the administration closing the memorial to veterans.

A report last night claimed that the Park Service would arrest veterans who attempt to visit the WWII Memorial.

The open memorials like this one don’t close according to the national park service.

My grandfather (The Bulge, Remagen) used to enjoy sitting next to a roaring fireplace. Sometimes, he'd do that, and need to run the Air Conditioning to keep the rest of the house from becoming a furnace.

There are plenty of politically connected senior officers who might do his bidding, but the mid-level officers and most of the troops aren’t quite so mind-numbed as the troops in the Bonus Army incident.

In addition, dugout Doug ordered the charging of the Bonus Army against the direct orders of the President (which was his style). Most of the troops did not charge, many walked away refusing to do harm to the veterans, and nobody was directly killed by the troops. It was the D.C. Police who fired their weapons and who killed the several people involved. There’s a lot of mythology attached to that event.
