Barilla: ‘Gays can eat someone else’s pasta’

Anger is boiling over at the chairman of the Barilla pasta company after he vowed to only feature heterosexual couples in commercials — and added that anyone offended by his anti-gay stance could buy a different brand of noodles.

Guido Barilla told Italian radio on Wednesday that he would never use a gay family to promote the world’s leading brand of pasta, according to The Guardian.

“For us the concept of the sacred family remains one of the basic values of the company,” Barilla said. ”I would not do it but not out of a lack of respect for homosexuals who have the right to do what they want without bothering others…[but] I don’t see things like they do and I think the family that we speak to is a classic family.”

He apologized

It all came from the same interview. It's all in how each media spins it. Bottom line is he's not catering to gays. He has my business for now on.

Barilla noodles are the best. We are thinking about stocking up on them today.

Let’s see if the lavender mafia allows freedom of thought. Let’s see if people are allowed to believe what God says, that homosexuality is a sin. Are we no longer allowed to believe what God tells us and say so?

Soooo, it’s Barilla pasta from now on.

Homosexuals will never pass up an opportunity to bully others into kissing their feet. Then they whine nonstop about being the victim.

I used to have an open attitude about homosexuality but the aggressive homo lobby has completely destroyed my tolerance. Great job, losers!

This is the outrage? How far we’ve fallen, and it started with, ‘we just want to be left in peace and not harassed’.

Same sex relationships BEGIN with narcissism and END with narcissism. It has only ever been about worshiping oneself and forcing others to bow before oneself.

Why would it ever occur to a major consumer products company to direct their marketing at homosexuals, who are a miniscule fraction of the consuming public?

Well perverts in all forms make up at least 50% of the public.

I just hope he doesn’t cave, as most CEO’s seem to be doing when the Left gets mad at them.

Thanks for the info. Rereading, I can see your point. I still think he shouldn’t have felt obligated to “clarify” what he meant. Frankly, saying the someone who dislikes the product or the message can buy something else, simply isn’t offensive, whether you’re talking about gays or anyone else. It’s just a matter of fact. (Libs are always telling us to “turn the channel” if we don’t like their vacuous, pseudo-porn, lefty political programs, aren’t they?)

I love Barllia. Good to know they are standing against the homo mafia.

Back when I treated my body like an amusement park I always substituted Barilla Pene noodles for the ones that come with hamburger helper.

Beef Stroganoff flavor, add 1/2 pack frozen peas, a can of mushrooms and a pound of garlic powder—outstanding!

Can you elaborate? I’m not sure what you mean, from the perspective of maximizing the revenue of a company’s advertising dollars.

Laz, you’re brilliant. I paid money to bail you out of FR purgatory, and I’ve never regretted it.
