Wasserman-Schultz refused to acknowledge that Reid hadn't passed a budget and is not willing to pass a budget. First, she said that she was sure that Reid intended to pass a budget, and then she said that she's just a lowly Representative from South Florida and won't presume to speak for the Senate Majority Leader - completely blowing by the fact that she's the chairwoman of the Democrat National Committee.
There wasn't much more that Van Susteren could do when Wasserman-Schultz refused to admit to reality.

This effort is all well and good, but the whole issue will really take off when millions of Americans see their health insurance premiums skyrocket come January. The notices will be going out in the next week or so detailing the new plans and costs. The sticker shock will be immense.
I’ve already found out that my Blue Cross premium will DOUBLE under the new insurance exchange created in California. I don’t know what I’m going to do. Many millions of Americans will suddenly wake up to a financial nightmare. Then you’ll see outrage on a grand scale.

I doubt that he has any expectations of changing votes.
I'm sure you know that votes are not "won" via convincing debate anymore. They are traded for favors and are pre-arranged long in advance, and then "debate" is staged to justify what was already decided in advance by party leaders.
