“I think it’s likely that the president will meet with leaders,” Carney told reporters aboard Air Force One. “I don't have a time for that or a day for that. But here’s the bottom line: Congress needs to act responsibly in order to ensure that the government does not shut down.”
Aides on Capitol Hill have said since last week that the White House was attempting to schedule a meeting with Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).

You can put all of these titans of stupidity and malfeasance in one room to plot and scheme, but Ted Cruz holds all the cards now.
That would explain the panic. Panic is good. They're getting shrill, and lashing out wildly. They don't have their talking points down, so they won't be able to muster a counter-attack against the Tea Party.

I can’t understand why 0 doesn’t just issue an EO to spend as much money as he wants and be done with it. The Constitution means nothing when it comes to most other issues.
