Commencement Address at Boston College (Secretary Condoleezza Rice, Boston, Massachusetts, May 22, 2006. US Department of State)
Excerpts:
As a student of a Catholic high school, the Sisters of Loretta taught me, I am pleased to be at an institution of higher education with such strong and celebrated Catholic and Jesuit traditions . . . You see, I got my Master's Degree at Notre Dame. (Boos.) I acquired a passion for the fighting Irish . . . and my family has been college educated and Presbyterian ever since. (Laughter and applause.) . . . I wandered into a course on international politics taught by a Czech refugee who specialized in Soviet studies, a man who had a daughter by the name of Madeleine Albright. With that one class, I was hooked. I discovered that my passion was Russia and all things Russian.

Ground to a Halt (Research shows: Suicide-bombers Communists, not Islamists

...

In writing my book on suicide attackers, I had researchers scour Lebanese sources to collect martyr videos, pictures and testimonials and the biographies of the Hezbollah bombers. Of the 41, we identified the names, birth places and other personal data for 38. Shockingly, only eight were Islamic fundamentalists. Twenty-seven were from leftist political groups like the Lebanese Communist Party and the Arab Socialist Union. Three were Christians, including a female high-school teacher with a college degree. All were born in Lebanon.

Iran is also communist, by the way (everything state-owned and much of it doled out to the families of clerics). I posted hundreds of articles on Iran and the need to take care of business there a long time ago, but anti-American, pecuniary, international socialist interests here threw trash in threads at nearly every article. Iran continues to build nuclear weapons.

"I have proposed that the Lebanese army and government must be in control of declaring war, and that we should find a way to incorporate Hezbollah's forces into the army. But this has to be on the condition that the Lebanese government and army accept the full duty of being ready to fight and protect Hezbollah if Israel attacks," he said, adding that it was also important that Lebanon had to liberate the occupied territory of the Sheba'a Farms from Israel."

Russian Youth Group Encourages "More Sex" to Save Motherland from Dwindling Population

By John Jalsevac

MOSCOW, Russia, July 30, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A Russian nationalist youth group is encouraging youth to have more sex in an effort to combat the nation's devastating demographic crisis, reports the Daily Mail.

In a lengthy special report the Daily Mail documents the activities of the Nashi youth movement, which is sponsoring a summer camp attended by some 10,000 Russian youth this summer. Not only are Nashi organizers encouraging the youth to have more sex, but they have designated a special area at the dormitories, the Love Oasis, for young men and women to engage in sexual intercourse. According to the Mail, condoms are unavailable in the camp.

"They [The pre-historic mammoths] became extinct because they did not have enough sex. That must not happen to Russia," said a Nashi organizer to a group of assembled campers.

The nationalistic camp involves two weeks of lectures, reported by some Western sources as being little more than anti-Western "propaganda," as well as a strenuous regimen of physical exercise. Numerous young couples have also been married at the camp, with 25 couples being married at the beginning of the first week, and ten to be married at the beginning of the second.

While many people, especially in the West, are finding in the Kremlin-initiated, and Kremlin-loyal Nashi youth group a disturbing image of similar groups started up in Nazi-era Germany, the camp's approach to sex is further evidence that the Russian government is not unaware that a demographic crisis is leading the entire Russian nation towards an early grave.

Russia's President Wants to Turn Around Population Decline

James Brooke | Moscow30 November 2010

Russia's president devoted the largest part of his annual State of Russia speech to reversing Russia's population decline.

If Russian couples have a third child, they will get a baby bonus, better health care, and free land to build a house or dacha, Russian President Dmitri Medvedev promised in his annual State of Russia speech.

Political analysts were hoping to hear about missiles or democracy. Instead they got babies.

[...]

What he did not say is that Russia compensates for its aging workforce by importing about 10 million laborers a year from Central Asia. After the United States, Russia is now the second-largest importer of workers. This influx of overwhelmingly Muslim workers creates tensions in Russia, where the population is largely Orthodox Christian.

The war in Georgia has provoked unprecedented levels of patriosm in Russia. The majority of the population supported their army's actions in the Caucasus. And even the fiercest critics of the Kremlin have now become proud Russians.

Members of the Kremlin-loyal youth organisation "Nashi" wave flags and hold a banner during a protest in front of the US embassy in Moscow during the Georgia war.

Ruthless Russia
American Thinker ^ | June 16, 2007 | Peter B. Martin
Excerpt:
Putin has created a very sophisticated youth movement made up of over 100,000 volunteers called "Nashi", much like a clone of the Nazi youth movement. It is a well-equipped, fanatical, nationalistic private army that is hostile to foreigners and to any political group opposing the Kremlin leadership. Their aggressive behavior is not only tolerated by the authorities but also even encouraged. They help re-enforce local police; wearing black attire, they aggressively beat anyone they consider hooligans or insurrectionist.

They have been taught to believe that the United States is actively preparing a pro-western revolution in their country and that they will thwart it. They have developed high-level recruiting and training camps right across the expanse of Russia. Not only are they schooled in a variety of military issues, they also have orientation courses in such esoteric subjects as gestalt therapy, to help them to survive under extreme conditions.

Nice to see you can dispute with facts. You know, like the fact that it won’t be Israel paying for the “regime change” (or whatever BS excuse the ‘liberal’ President uses), or their multimillion-dollar ships in danger from the russian “carrier-killer” missile ship that Putin just brought in?

And your mental genius aside, exactly why would I bother searching for - much less registering or commenting on - a site run by the most powerless, discredited political group in existence?

Very smart move.
1. Israel backs Obama, in order to curry favor on Iran.
2. Israel is taking no actual action. However, the statement, damages Sunni support for the rebels. Thus a weakened Assad survives ensuring stability.

I’m sure some of our new Freepers think American Thinker is a Left wing pub. I’ve seen, lately, The Washington Times, National Review, and other long running conservative publications called Liberal. It’s as if anyone who isn’t pro-Putin isn’t a conservative. Now, if that’s not beyond weird, I don’t know what is.

If Israel’s goal is to keep Assad in power, it is a smart move. If in fact they want him gone, it’s an incredibly stupid move, because no Arab country is going to want to openly take Israel’s side in any conflict. If Israel voices too much support for intervention on the side of the rebels, there goes the Saudi money.

More likely it is all about natural gas.

The significant question to be asked at this point is what could bind Israel, Turkey, Qatar in a form of unholy alliance on the one side, and Assad's Syria, Iran, Russia and China on the other side, in such deadly confrontation over the political future of Syria? One answer is energy geopolitics.

I suppose that if one looks closely at Netenyahu’s comment, he is saying that he wants Assad’s government gone, not that he wants the FSA forces to win. However, here in real world, the defeat of one would mean the victory of the other.

Documented quotes on this issue are scarce, because apparently Netenyahu told his cabinet, some months ago, that they are not allowed to comment on the Syria policy. It is too volatile a matter. Rather uncharacteristically (for Israelis) they seem to have obeyed this veto and kept mum.

But the Syria policy seems to be very divisive in Israel. It cuts across several political fields. There is a fervent pro-Russia camp in Israeli politics, who don’t like to move against the Syrian govt for that reason. But lots of others don’t like this policy because in the long term it gives great power to Turkey. Turkey is virtually taking over northern Syria. The long term results of this will be resented by Cyprus and Greece.

I was talking to someone about this recently, who visited the area and knew all about Woodside Petroleum’s work in the Meditteranean gas fields. He said that Israel and Turkey do a lot of business, but are allies who can’t stand each other, and Turkey is an expansionist state.

Hot times ahead.
