Report Claims Syrian Troops Used Chemical Weapons Without Assad’s Approval

German surveillance suggests chemical attack unauthorized, Assad also tells PBS's Charlie Rose that he did not gas his own people, as White House continues to press claim.

Government forces in Syria may have launched the chemical weapons attack that reportedly killed more than a thousand civilians last month before receiving a go-ahead from President Bashar Assad.

According to an article published on Sunday in the German newspaper Bild am Sonntag, a German spy ship intercepted repeated communications from forces loyal to Assad asking for permission to use chemical weapons; however, their requests were consistently denied.

This latest report comes as the Oval Office unleashed an all-out public relations offensive over the weekend in order to convince a deeply skeptical Congress to approve a resolution that would allow for the use of military strikes to both punish and degrade the capabilities of Assad’s forces after they allegedly deployed chemical weapons against civilians in the suburbs of Damascus on Aug. 21.

White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough asserted that a "common-sense test" rather than "irrefutable, beyond-a-reasonable-doubt evidence" makes the Syrian government responsible for a chemical weapons attack that Obama says demands a U.S. military response.

....And therefore Assad still remains culpable.(to the convoluted mindset that resonates within at the White Hut.)

Common sense Americans KNOW this is a ‘wag the dog’
evasion, mixed with further arming al Qaeda,
and typical antiChristian and antiJew hatred
foaming out from the (undocumented) Moslem White House.

So, what I’m hearing from this trial balloon, is that the White House has been busted in a lie and has moved to Wild Justification #2.

How hard would it be for an outside government to assist the rebels with hacking into the communication and giving a directive of approval for release? What government would ever do that?

It’s the president’s responsibility and the president needs to take the blame/consequences of bad decisions. I’m sick of the president blaming people under him or before him or in another branch of the government.

Oh, we’re talking about Syria, not the US; and Assad not Obama. I still feel the same. (I don’t want to attack Syria, but also will not let Assad off the hook for any chemical attacks).

I'm sticking with the most credible explanation at this point.

Yep, I know it’s true because I read it in the newspaper.
Now do you believe me? (sarc)

Obama has not produced his original birth certificate. Therefore common sense says there is a problem with the original birth certificate!

While your logic is impeccable, the essence of what you espouse doesn’t penetrate the cinder-block mind of a liberal. So while to us it makes perfect sense, to a liberal it’s more like “Does Not Compute”.
