Mary Cheney, daughter of Dick Cheney and sister to Wyoming senatorial candidate Liz Cheney, severely denounced her sister’s statement on gay marriage, posting on her Facebook page that marriage was “not something to be decided by a show of hands.”
“For the record, I love my sister, but she is dead wrong on the issue of marriage,” Cheney wrote. “Freedom means freedom for everyone. That means that all families—regardless of how they look or how they are made—all families are entitled to the same rights, privileges and protections as every other.”
Mary Cheney encouraged her Facebook friends to share the message if they agreed.

Language disagrees with Mary Cheney. Two women cannot be husband and wife. Two men cannot be husband and wife. That’s reality...that’s language...a show of hands, or not.

Mary Cheney, you are encroaching upon religious sensibilities, religious traditions and religious freedom.
You are encroaching upon marriage which is a religious institution.
You are free to form a civil union and to have all rights as accorded to spouses in marriage. But you are not free to encroach on traditions and values held for thousands of years.

You’re absolutely right. Language describes the male spouse as the husband and the female spouse as the wife.
Homosexuality is the most dangerous of all the modern movements. It spits in the face of God and God’s creation. I wish the “moderates” would get that through their heads.

Mary Cheney is entitled to her opinion, as is her sister, Liz but the fact remains that marriage is not a constitutional ‘right’. God ordained marriage and He made it perfectly clear that it was between a man and a woman. Two women or two men living together and engaging in homosexual behavior is not a ‘marriage’, no matter what any legislature many decree. This is the simple fact that underlies opposition to ‘gay marriage’. It’s a mockery of actual marriage and simply a ploy that homosexual activists are using to ‘normalize’ their aberrant sexual proclivities. Sadly, its working.
