I wonder if boy bigears is being told how unpopular his Syrian sand trap is.
And if so, in what heavy handed way he will ignore it.
Or if instead his advisors paint rosy images of children throwing flowers at his feet as people rejoice.
It could be like in the Soviet politburo where the ministers presented only what the supreme soviet wanted to hear, because to do otherwise meant a nine millimeter brain hemorrhage.
Why would Putin give Obama what Obama wants?
Putin’s best bet is to allow the U.S. to dissolve it’s own influence in the region, outside of Israel, and essentially ignore Israel as long as they stick with defending themselves against Hezbollah and Hamas.
On the one hand they know that when Obama says, “I've got your back”, nothing could be further from the truth.
Obama has proven to be an enemy to Israel and he cannot be trusted but...
Israel knows that this is a litmus test for Iran and that means Israel will probably have to hit Iran soon or else face destruction. Israel must rely on itself for the Syrian civil war has shown that the “international Community” will always hesitate to step in and stop a slaughter.
Israelis are trying to get more gas masks now but they continue to shop, dine out, purchase and more or less live their lives like anywhere else.
Problem is, the whole Arab world is revolting and they have always been a revolting bunch of sub-humans.
For now, there is tension but not too much in Israel.
So... We PO everyone on all sides, eh? Wunnerful.
1982 saw Israeli forces capture and sorround West Beirut in a matter of days. Had the US, Italy, France not intervened Arafart and his scum would have fled to Tunis sooner.
The main problem was Israel sitting in its “Security buffer Zone”, 1985-2000. That was a disaster.
Here is the Royal Navy's site for the Astute (two have been built to date).
When speaking of the Astute, the Royal Navy says the following:
"HMS Astute, as first of class, is currently conducting an extensive sea trials package as she moves from launch to the front line. In the first part of 2012 she proved her ability to prepare and launch tomahawk missiles, successfully firing two missiles from the Gulf of Mexico and accurately hitting the targets on the test range in Northern Florida."
Here is the site for the Royal Navy's HMS Talent, a Trafalgar Class submarine (one of five remaining):
When speaking of the Talent, the Ryal NAvy says the following:
Talent is also fitted with Tomahawk Land Attack Missiles (TLAM) which gives the boat a land attack role.
I am inclined to think that Obama himself is not the real power, and somewhere, some really big money sees some advantage in all this. It does drive up oil prices, but I’m not sure that’s it.
As to the rest, I tend to “buy” Rush’s theory that Obama’s people all think like him anyway, so they tell him what he wants to hear because they think it too, regardless of unpleasant facts. I’m just not so sure “Administration” people themselves are the real power brokers.
There are times zero reminds me of a kid who puffs himself up to look tough and then says, “I’m tough! Aren’t I, mommy?”
Wonder if it is Iranian Valerie Jarret he says it to.
You know... If I put on a big tin foil hat:
I have little doubt Putin would not hesitate to arrange the gassing of civilians in order to embarrass Obama and weaken the U.S. The situation in Syria is so chaotic, I suspect such an attack could be pulled off without Russian involvement being found out. Just add a few chem shells to an ongoing Syrian bombardment or one the Russkies knew was going to occur. Cheese in the trap Obama built for himself...
Sticking point is that the so called rebels have already used gas.
Three or four times already.
Chlorine was the gas of choice for two of those.
The media trumpeted each gassing, then dumped it down the memory hole the second credible data began showing the so called rebels doing the deed.
If the Rus did it, it would have looked like Assad personally urinated chem weapons from the side door of a helicopter while raining flaming puppies down on the stricken.
Oh, well, the historical examples are too numerous to list. But otherwise I agree with your assessment of Putin vs. Obama.
My original point was that I just don’t think it’s in Russia’s interest to attack Israel, other than perhaps profiting from arms sales to Israel’s enemies. But that’s just my assessment.
I see your point. So you’re saying it’s not in Putin’s (and therefore not in Syrian or Hizbollah’s) interest to involve Israel at this point? That is to say, America launches 37 Tomahawks and Syria, Hizbollah, Iran, HAMAS do nothing is response?
It isn’t that they would do nothing.
Israel will get attacked by somebody out of opportunity regardless.
But attacking Israel won’t hurt Obama.
He hates and despises Israel.
They would have to retaliate in some other way at another location that would hurt zero greatly.
What about an Israeli response? Would that have to be “measured” as well? Tit for tat, no harm done? They can’t throw Chemical rockets at Israel as she will then go nuts.
I recall a terrorist receiving a personal phone call from the head of Missed.
At the end of the conversation, Mossad head hit a key on his phone and exploded the bad guys head.
Israels response will be hard to guess and very different from what we would try to box in and prognosticate.
As for what would hurt zero the most, what US assets being remove or degraded either in theater or abroad would embarrass zero the most?
We just had the panic scramble crawl at our embassies recently.
Ah, the joys of posting from a mobile device.
As if my legendary typos weren’t already bad enough.
I note that my phone recognized mossad the second time around.
True, but in the prev. cases the credible information did come out. Now, I could be wrong, but I don’t think even Obama would move against Assad on information that pointed to the rebels. Enough time has passed for indications one way or another to be evident, if indeed we do have (or have put) people on the ground in the area.
On the other hand, I’m also open to the idea we colluded with the rebels to implicate Assad, so in that case we have Obama placing the cheese in the trap he built for himself, while Putin observes, smiling.
