David Horowitz explains it well in his book The Politics of Bad Faith. In the second essay, titled “The Religious Roots of Radicalism” Horowitz explains how the Jewish religious concept of Tikkun Olam – the quest to heal the world and pursue “social justice” – was incorporated by Karl Marx and other 19th century radical godfathers into the heart of the socialist cause. The religious became political.

i’m not doubting the correctness of that statement, but what’s perplexing is that most immigrants to America were fleeing the form of government they were living under, searching for freedom and liberty. its seems strange to leave a country (Russia, say), and then try to advance your old form of government.
Personally conservative. Belief in serious study. Hard work. Family values. Probity.
Publically? The faith-based initiative toward very public charity ... the Bible's almsgiving with trumpets ... becomes their politics. Many are generous with their own money ... up to a point ... and think you should be too, with your taxes. Your taxes are thus mandated by their religion.
The communists in Russia were a heavily Jewish, but non-religious movement and not above using anti-semitism to their own ends. E.G., in the forced collectivization of the Ukraine in which 10 Million were starved to death and sent to slave labor, the Communists made damn sure that the officials in charge of the massacre were identifiably Jewish!
If you want to see this phenomenon up close, simply investigate the family background of Supreme Court Justice Kagan and Uncle Kaganovitch, one of the key murdering swine Soviet SOB's of the 20s-40s. Apparently non of the RINO bastards who confirmed her can read.
