Ron Paul: Manning ‘should be released’
Politico ^ | 8/22/2013 | Breanna Edwards

Former Rep. Ron Paul believes that Chelsea Manning — previously known as Bradley Manning — has done enough time in custody for the WikiLeaks scandal and should be released.

Paul, who made his comments at a Reddit AMA session on Thursday, agreed that Manning should’ve been punished for practicing civil disobedience and breaking the law, but Manning’s time served until now, as well as the other factors in the case, should prompt Manning’s release.

“He deserves some punishment, but he has already received (in my estimation) excessive amounts of punishment. He has been in prison for over 3 years as well as tortured, and most military personnel who are caught committing war crimes never receive any penalties.” Paul wrote when asked about Manning’s sentence.

“I think he should be released now, that he has done us a great service by letting the people know the truth[. He’s] a whistleblower in my estimation (even the courts did not charge him with aiding the enemy), and I believe his goal was to inform the American people of the truth about what was happening in the Iraq / Afghanistan Wars,” the veteran politician who now runs his own Internet show wrote.

If the nut doesn’t fall far from the tree, then Rand Paul’s political career will soon be history.

While nutty for sure, Ron Paul is also right on more than a few issues. Rand doesn't have to fall too far, just far "enough."

Ron Paul’s ridiculous positions pretty much more than cancel out all of his correct positions on the issues. This one is so off the wall that one can only conclude that Ron Paul is certifiably insane.

He needs to shut up and go away before he destroys his son’s political career.

Losertarian... you mean kind of like the Republican party... who can’t and likely never will win a federal election again, who aides and abets Democrats with immigration, healthcare, spying, who is represented by McCain, Boehner, Rubio etc. (all trash) quit projecting!

RoPaul said that?

Good for him. He’s still half nuts, but he can be right once in awhile.

Ron Paul is absolutely correct. Manning should be released.

Speaking of questions: Does Senator Lindsey Graham look like he is a blood relative of Bradley (Chelsea) Manning or not? I’m not positive whether those two look like twins or just brothers. I have no way of knowing so I thought I’d ask.

Ron Paul tweets about a SEAL sniper’s death, killed by a veteran with PTSD he was trying to help: “He who lives by the sword dies by the sword”

http://dailycaller.com/2013/02/04/ron-paul-tweets-about-seal-snipers-death-he-who-lives-by-the-sword-dies-by-the-sword/

Ron Paul tweet: “Chris Kyle’s death seems to confirm that “he who lives by the sword dies by the sword.” Treating PTSD at a firing range doesn’t make sense”

Kyle and a friend were both killed by a veteran struggling with PTSD while working with him at a gun range on Saturday.

The former Marine, Eddie Ray Routh, turned his weapon on the other two men and shot them at close range, according to news accounts.

I don’t care how kooky Ron Paul gets as long as he dresses better than Chelsea Manning

Ron Paul was one of the very few republicans that voted to sodomize the US Armed Forces. Never forget that. As a doctor he knows about all the deadly diseases that practicing sodomy brings. He used to be brag about being a veteran, now he’s trying to destroy the military, siding with his liberal pals in flooding the services with sodomites.
