Vigilantes aren’t always wrong.
If the police cannot do the job it becomes the duty of citizens.
My dad was a “country doctor”.
A stranger guy would come into his office, claiming pain and so forth, seeking codeine or some pain killer.
Suspicious, Dad would examine him. If it was bogus, he'd then write him a prescription for sugar pills at one of the local pharmacies.
He'd then call the drug store to let them know an addict is on his way over.
They'd “fill” the prescription.
The cops would “greet” the addict on his way out, and “escort” him out of town.
And that is how civilized times worked. Today, my Dad's license would be revoked and he'd be the one run out of town.
That’s racist!
Not so long ago, banishment was usually a death sentence. Today, it’s just an inconvenience.
Hmm, a showdown between self-government and libertarianism. It’s good to know there are still communities in this world with enough morally-upright people to make such a stand.
However, there are plenty of power-hungry tyrant-wannabes who want to see such communities infected and destroyed from within, and will use libertarian fools to accomplish this goal. (cf. “Hegelian Dialectic”)
That showdown doesn’t often turn out so well for the good people.
