Al-Jazeera America signed on with a brisk hello from anchor Tony Harris before he got down to business with his network's first stories: continued turmoil in Egypt, shots fired at an Atlanta elementary school and more wildfires in the West.
With that, the network entered the cable-news fray long dominated by CNN, MSNBC and Fox News Channel.
The Qatar-based Al-Jazeera Media Network launched its U.S. outlet only eight months after announcing the new venture, which replaced Al Gore's Current TV in more than 45 million TV homes Tuesday.

Hell, I never watched or even knew where algore’s channel is. I won’t be watching aljezeera. I’m an infidel and know exactly what muslims think of us.
Yea, I never did either, but if it’s on your channel list they’re getting some of your money.
It will fit hand in glove with the Commie News Network.
With all my heart, FUAJ
I’m not seeing it on my channel list.
They are advertising al-jar zeera tv on the only conservative AM radio in the DFW market today. Thanks a lot KSKY 660, crap bastards.
It’s still showing as Current but tune in, it’s changed.
Ah yes more msm plop!aganda
They had an ad on the Pittsburgh station also, I’m interested to hear what Quinn and Rose have to say about it tomorrow.
This should dispel any doubts about Islamic influence of our news/entertainment media. There is a lot of oil/Islamic money invested in our media through many front companies enough that a saudie prince can pick up a phone and 86 a 9-11 story on FOX within 24 hours of it’s report.
AT&T U-Verse Dropped Algazeera - actually never started it ...
DirecTV is getting hundreds of thousands of calls ... swamped
It will be included in a package. If you want your favorite channel you are FORCED to pay for a package that includes alsavagejeera. You are subsidizing the bobbing beard network.
No bearded Jew-hating and Christian-hating savage network is getting any of my money.
There is no channel worth paying for that stuff
I was one of the few, if not ONLY Freeper dudes working the 2008 DNC as a Tech Director. I was assigned to Al-Jazerra. It was what I expected: ‘westernized male and female talent’ with a bunch of semi-westernized douche males running the show. Anyway, as a side story, I completely and accidentally made an ass of Gov. Mike Dukakis. I set him up with his headphone and microphone set, which brought back memories of his tank commander days. When I handed them to him, I said “i’m sure you’re familiar with these, right?” Well, he kind of hesitated and looked at me, and smiled very wryly and said “Ohh yeah.” I did NOT intend for my remark to be taken in that way, but it was funny. Anyway, he was seated next to his two interviewers in a long row of media at the Denver stadium. I shared the same headphone feed and the Governor heard the Arabic chatter. He asked me, “Bill, who am I hearing?” I said, that’s the producer. He then asked “Who am I taking to?” I told him he’d be hearing the Translator. Well, where I screwed up is that I didn’t know that HE didn’t know that the conversation was to be an interaction with the two anchors SITTING RIGHT NEXT TO HIM on the field! Well, we went live and the Gov never once made eye contact with his hosts. His lovely wife and I frantically tried to ‘Marine eye signal’ him to the hosts to his left - who were wondering why the hell he was not interacting with them. Anyway, it must have made him look like an ass in whatever Arabic hell hole they sent it to...and he was wearing the monster cans, to boot. Totally my fault. Funny, but NOT professional.
Wow MSNBC’s viewership will go from dozens to single digits!
I guess that’ll be one station I miss out on...
Yep...heard NUMEROUS ads on 740AM (Houston), through out the day and during Hannity, Dish ran their ad :(
I have had Al-Jazeera and RT News for a while - they both are WAAAY better than ABC, CBS, AND NBC News combined.
They ACTUALLY report the news, and do not ignore politically-based news stories that are critical of the DEMs.
I do, however, keep their political agendas in mind when I listen to their reporting ...
