Bill Kristol Backs Off Palin Comments: ‘I Don’t Think She Has a Future’
Mediaite ^ | August 20, 2013 | Evan McMurry

Bill Kristol appeared on Morning Joe Tuesday morning and distanced himself from comments he made on an ABC online interview Sunday about Sarah Palin’s path back into political power, saying he gave a dispassionate answer to a question about her political future, and was not actually encouraging her to run.

“I was asked, ‘Does Sarah Palin have a future?’ and I just tried to give an analytical answer, which is I don’t think she does having resigned as governor,” Kristol said. “I said, ‘I’m not urging this.’ This is useful to think outside the box, not just accept the conventional wisdom…If she wants to have a serious future in American politics, as opposed to giving speeches occasionally, causing a ruckus with Facebook posts, she should run for office. Running and winning takes away a lot of the baggage of the past.”

Which isn’t to say Kristol was against the idea of her running.

“You don’t think if she ran in the Republican primary in Alaska and beat a couple of good candidates and the incumbent senator, it would be interesting?” Kristol asked. “It would fun to have her in the Senate in January 2015. Good to have a Republican vote there, lively young senator.”

“I promise you that what she heard out of what you said was ‘how to,’” said Nicolle Wallace, the John McCain aide who was assigned to Palin during the latter’s tumultuous 2008 campaign as the GOP running mate.

“She really disappointed me when she quit the governorship,” Kristol admitted. “Until then she had been a popular governor. Fine, you’re a defeated vice presidential candidate, you have couple bad interviews, you can survive that. Quitting the governorship in your first term? People don’t understand that.”

He runs a site that, although it has advertising, has to entice "fans" to go on as cruise every year, to keep the doors open. That's how he met Gov. Sarah Palin and recommended her to his friend, Sen. John McCain. And you go on MSNBC and talk with Nicole Wallace about Sarah Palin? Was Steve Schmidt at a pride parade or an HIV/AIDS quilting bee?

Like I’ve always thought. Little Billy K. is a simpering wimp who can’t even defend what he’s said to Joe Scarborough....

He’s one of the reasons why I don’t watch Sunday morning TV anymore. They are all colluding, appeasing, pussy cowards with no moral character. There is not one of them that I’d believe.

“I was asked, ‘Does Sarah Palin have a future?’

...obviously concerned she just might, they’re probing to find out if they need to continue their unabashed, shameful and untrue attacks on Palin and her family.

She is so “irrelevant” that they are always talking about her. If she had no future, why does she get so much attention from her enemies?

They thought Palin would be a good-looking pushover. Boy, have they ever been disappointed.

Sarah was sued by many demoRat liberals for nothing things. One demoRat sued her 19 times and lost all 19 suits. She still had to pay millions of legal fees to fight and was running out of money.

If he watched the movie “Undefeated” he WOULD understand. Her enemies made it impossible for her to govern with hundreds of frivolous lawsuits. She resigned because she believed the people of Alaska deserved a governor who could actually fulfill the obligations of the office.

Certainly she has a future the question is whether Kristol has balls. :-) Hell Democrats can be impeached for being the Commander in Chief of sexual harassment and even some GOP can be found using Prostitutes (Vitter) and its Palin that is a has been? I’m not supporting her for President in 2016 at this point. I think she hurt herself by not running and she hurt the chances of having someone other than Mitt by dragging the decision to run or not out for so long. I appreciate everything she has done as far as her being an often lone populist voice of reason against the insanity that is Obama but if she wants to run she needs to make that decision early in the Presidential race cycle not later. I’d personally like to see her run for Senate in Alaska because I think that race is entirely winnable for her. She has the personal fortune now to fight the idiocy that led to her resignation but the ball is in her court.

Nicolle Wallace is subbing for Mika this week...she needed a break, and Kristol was happy for the face time.

I wonder if he received Roger Ailes' approval?

Ann Coulter:

"She's like the ex-girlfriend they're SO over, never want to see again, have already forgotten about -- really, it's O-ver -- but they just can't stop talking about her.

Liberal: Ha, ha ... Sarah who? She's over, she's toast, a future Trivial Pursuit answer, nothing more. Can you believe she just resigned the governorship like that? What a quitter!

Normal person: Speaking of quitting, how's work?

Liberal: Did you hear she might get a TV show? There's no way Sarah Palin's getting a TV show! No way! I can't believe stupid Sarah Palin could get her own stupid TV show now. Well, I'm sure not gonna watch it -- that's for sure!

Normal person: Okay, then! Not watching her TV show.

Liberal: How does she think she can run for president in 2012 if she can't finish her term as governor of a Podunk state? She's finished.

Normal person: You don't have to vote for her.

Liberal: I was never going to vote for her! But now I'm not going to vote for her twice. And I will never watch her TV show. I am so over her.

If Sarah Palin runs for president, I will vote for her.

ANYTHING that Kristol might have to say has no relevancy.

I like Sarah, but she has NO FUTURE in national politics as a stand-alone candidate, outside of Alaska. She would be a GREAT appointee by a Republican President (if we ever have another one.) to a cabinet position, though.

If you walk in to ANY public place, and ask 100 people who said, “I can see Russia from my house!”, 99 will answer “Sarah Palin”. They don’t know that it was actually Tina Fey that said that on Saturday Night Live, quoting an article title from Daily Kos.

Such is the deepness of Big Media Programming.
