Well, we know that European "conservatives" and rightward leaning folk in different countries aren't exactly like us (as in first Conservatives and then Republicans), however we do share some of the same principals. We do have as our goals (economic freedom) and in a lot of these countries as well..there is a strong social conservative contingent.

I think sometimes we could learn from our international allies such as the Canadian Conseratives, UKIP (or to a lesser degree the UK Tories), The Australian Liberals/Coalition, and other political parties in various nations which might naturally be/become our allies.

The lefties already have a let up on us in these international relationships (first with the mostly defunct communist bloc) and now with the Socialist International group of political parties from various nations promoting socialism.

WOULD IT BE BENEFICAL FOR FREE MARKET/LIBERTARIAN/CONSERVTATIVE/SOCIAL CONSERVATIVE/CHRISTIAN DEMOCRATIC parties to form an international political party group to help us express/share ideas to increase freedom, the rule of law, (secularism in Muslim/theocratic societies), free market/capitism, and socially conservative/traditional values??

I think yes, however I want to hear your thoughts. We certainly like when Europe "turns right" (and not in the media's mischaracterized way through Neo-Nazi parties), but genuine free-market based traditional conservative/Eurosceptic ways).

Let me know your thoughts..

I'd be pessimistic. We have our Constitution which is largely ignored these days but which is a good document. I cannot see an Italian or Frenchman deciding to adopt our Constitution. What I readily see is a conservative european suggesting that we might make progress if we gave up this or gave up that and moved just a little away from what the Founding Fathers gave to us.

Seems to me that this is how it always goes. I no longer have much interest in compromise and dilution of principles.

It’s an interesting idea, but not sure what you mean by”political party group”

Helms School of Government”

Wow!

I didn’t realize Liberty named its school of government after the great Senator Helms! That’s awesome!!!

I would be pessimistic.

Europe, for all it’s worth and acquired values, has never been without some kind of monarchy, up to, and including WW2. After the war, chaos ensued with the spread of Communism, and the creation of ‘buffer states’ by the Soviet Union. Then, in moving to the late 1980’s, when The Berlin Wall came down, and the ‘buffer states’ began their own autonomy, came more chaos, as peoples began to find their own national identity, again, such as in The Balkans.

Mind you, throughout all this, the papal state, has been one for favoring blessings of monarchs and regents throughout European history, as well.

With an American eye, I can look upon what Europe labels as ‘conservative’ with a chuckle.

Mind you, what I say, I say with an American eye, with no allegiance to anyone living of any political bend, and with no exclusions:

Europe must rid themselves of any and all remnants of monarchy, first. No left-over-before-the-war titles; no standing house of any lordships; no so-called Parliamentary monarchies; no living-or-soon-to-be-bred feudal system human beings, period.

If Europe is “entertaining ideas of Freedom”, then all ties to anyone or anything that even resembles monarchy must be removed. They can put all that stuff in their museums for the tourists, but they must rid themselves of it, politically.

Once we have achieved this here at home we can liberate Canada. Maybe, after that, we can just leave the light on.

Party, Schmarty!

We need a PERSON not a PARTY. Where is that person? Where is the new Ronald Reagan or George Washington? Palin is close but her voice is a bit whiny. We need a PERSON, not a party.. Someone please step up! We need a PASSIONATE, PISSED OFF PERSON who's visually appealing enough to get the attention of 20-something bimbo female LIV's. Sad but true, but that's what it'll take.

Next, overcome the progressive propagandist media! If a tree falls in the forest and the media doesn't want anyone to know about it, THEY WON'T KNOW ABOUT IT. That has GOT to change. The media is currently CONCEALING critical things from the public right now. That MUST change.

First off, the media-government complex is strong and has close to a century of history.

Second: Libertarians and traditionalist Conservatives have nothing in common.
