Had McCain followed number 6 and pegged Obama for what he is, he might have changed history

Of course we now know that it is not and never was in McCain’s heart to believe Obama and his ideas were misguided dangers to our Republic

I was talking about number 6 as applied to primaries. It is wrong for that. No disagreement about applying it to general election.

Jon McCain’s opponent wasn’t obama; it was John McCain.

And while some of these rules make sense, the article taken as a whole smells of Karl Rove and the Expedients.

You win an election by getting more votes than your opponent. All the strategizing and planning is a waste of time if it doesn’t deliver votes. And you earn votes because your ideas, your plans, and your principles align with a greater number of voters than your opponent’s. If that is NOT true, then you deserve to lose, and the voters deserve your opponent.
