On what basis is Filner asking for taxpayers to pay for his legal defense?You must have missed that thread. Filner claimed his actions were not his fault because the city never game him training on how to act around women. As ridiculous as that sounds, that was the basis for his claim the city should pay his legal fees.

Kind of replaces “THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT”.
Think this is bad, wait till the taxpayers pay to track down all the people that say he DIDN’T molest/approach/whatever him.
Now THAT would be as unprecedented as “Why no, Miss Lewinski and I were NEVER in the White House alone. There was ALWAYS an agent on each floor, the COMM room in the basement and Guards at the front desk/door.”.
