The Arabs who were living in the land of Israel started to call themselves "Palestinians" only after the establishment of Israel in 1948...

You nailed it. The Palestinkians drive for statehood is nothing more than Arabs whining "me too."

“Palestine” is the name that the Romans gave to the land of Israel when they conquered this land 2000 years ago.”

More to the point, “Palestine” is Latin for “Philistine” (Pelishti), an inhabitant of Philistia, which was a coastal plain west of Judah that encompassed the cities of Joppa, Ashdod, and Gaza. Map here:

Palestinians have always been foreigners to the land of Judah. And as inhabitants of Gaza, they already have all the land their ancestors had or that they can legally lay claim to.

In order to wipe out any claim the Jews had to Judea and Samaria, the Romans renamed the land “Palestine” after they conquered the land and drove the Jews out. If anyone can lay claim to the historical ownership of Judea and Samaria by conquest, it’s the Italians not Philistines!

So this is an American man, of Jewish heritage, who he and his family have lived in Israel for 20 years. AND he doesn’t GET IT yet?

Of course not. He undoubtedly was a liberal American Jew.

This actually avoids the real issue, that Muslims truly believe that all land, everywhere, belongs to Islam. This is reinforced by their again, rigid belief, that once *any* land “flies under the flag of Islam”, it is forevermore Islamic property, and no one else can lay claim to it.

This is so obsessive among Muslims that some still claim land in Spain that Muslims were kicked off of in battle well over 500 years ago.

The underlying reason for this is that acquiring land is one of the few, tangible ways a Muslim can demonstrate that they are a “good Muslim”. The greatest Muslim heroes are those that gain the most land. “Okay Muslims” at least keep all the land that has been gained. But the real failures and losers are those that have lost “Muslim lands”, and thus are a shame to everyone.

It also shows the *only* way there can ever be peace in Israel.

People in the West, including Jews, have a thousand, ten thousand joys in life. Things that give them pleasure and purpose, and can be offered to them as part of business dealings. So negotiations among such people are complex and rich. If I did not offer enough, let me offer more, or offer something else you might like.

But Islam is not like that. Their singular focus on land is such that any other offers are meaningless, even things near and dear to *our* hearts, like peace, prosperity, happiness, family, education, etc. So no matter *what* they are offered, unless it is land, to them it is just a distraction.

As well, Islam offers complete freedom to Muslims to obtain land by *any* means. Lying, cheating, stealing, treachery, cunning, guile, murder, and you name it. By “hook or crook”, it does not matter, as long as they get more land.

So negotiating with Muslims is fruitless, by our usual way of thinking. But ours is not the only way of negotiation.

During the Cold War, the West offered its scientists large amounts of treasure to create useful inventions and make important discoveries. But the Soviet Union was too poor to do that. So instead of offering their scientists wealth, they took away what wealth they had, then offered them the simple necessities of life in exchange for their work.

A major breakthrough might mean the use of another blanket during the cold night, or an extra potato at lunch. When you are destitute, such things truly motivate you.

So the Soviet approach is what the Israelis should use with the Paleos.

That is, offer them nothing. Certainly never offer any land in exchange for peace, which just motivates the Paleos to attack harder.

Instead, whenever the Paleos attack Israel, *take away* a small piece of their land, with the understanding that it is “forever forfeit”, and no matter *what* happens or is offered, the Paleos will never, EVER, get it back.

This will not be easy, because neither Europe nor the US understands this way of negotiating, and to them it is just a few acres of empty desert, unimportant and worthless. So at the behest of the Paleos, they will demand Israel give it back, as a “precondition” to peace talks.

And Israel must be mule stubborn in refusing to do so. And in fact, Israel’s new negotiating position *must* be, that every, single time the Paleos attack, they will lose another small piece of land.

And the only way they can *keep* what land they have left is by peace. By never again attacking Israel, they can continue to live in the territories. But if they keep attacking, acre by acre, they will *forever* lose that land, until they are forced out into Egypt or Jordan.

And they will cease being Paleos, and become citizens of those two countries. Living in shame before their Muslim brethren, and hated by them, because they lost Muslim lands to Jews.

And one final negotiating tool that Israel should use.

They should nationalize all holy sites in Israel, including mosques. Once owned by Israel, these sites can be leased to users very generously, on condition of good behavior.

This should make it abundantly clear to the rest of the world that Israeli lands are owned by Israel. That no other country or religion can lay claim to any other land in Israel except the land of authorized embassies.

The focus of this should be the al-Asqa mosque, currently managed by troublesome Wahhabis. They should be given the threat that if *in any way* they make a nuisance of themselves, they will “lose their lease”, which will then be given to the far more peaceful Sufi sect of Islam.

Such a threat will utterly terrify the Wahhabis. And it will work because it is the same threat used by the Saud in Saudi Arabia, when the dominant Wahhabis threaten to overthrow them. And the Sufis are waiting in the wings there as well, always hopeful of doing the Wahhabis one in the eye.

So, two things for Israel to do, so that it can live in peace and prosperity, and enjoy the thousand, ten thousand things that life offers.

I think the root of all progressive-ism is a hatred for God’s ways.

How does someone, who is seeking God’s kingdom, settle down and embrace an anti-God movement?

For the money? (I guess- i wish I knew)

Ant yet there would be outrage if an Israeli politician said “In a final resolution, we would not see the presence of a single Muslim - civilian or soldier - on our lands,”

once *any* land “flies under the flag of Islam”, it is forevermore Islamic property, and no one else can lay claim to it

And that is why Muslims so jealously guard the al Aqsa mosque and the dome of the rock, as well as the legend of it being a Muslim holy place, because they forever (they think) control the one place Jews want the most. That dome on the rock is as out of place and unthinkable as having the Muslim Brotherhood in the White House. Oh, wait...

Kerry should take his brother with him to the meetings. I understand he married a Jewish woman, and has converted to the religion.

i can’t help but wonder if Abbas is a descendant of Esau...

And many of us know how Esau felt about his brother Jacob. That hatred still exists.
