Polls this far out are mostly meaningless.

I'm adamant about "no more Bushes," and I feel pretty much the same way about Cheneys, especially this one.

It’s early, but I doubt the end result will be any different. Just smaller margin.

Clever TV ads don't win votes in Wyoming. Retail politics do. I would be surprised if there was much more than about 60 towns in the entire state with a population over 600. I know there aren't even 20 with at least 5,000 people.

There are campgrounds in and around Yellowstone during the summer which have more people than some county seats.

Good. She’s running in a state where she doesn’t belong because her chances of winning would be better, not because it will help the conservative cause.

From what I’ve heard about Mike Enzi, he’s not perfect, but a lot better than Liz Cheney.

She’s only running for the Senate there because she thinks she’s entitled. It’s her turn.

Why doesn’t she run in a state that she’s from or at least knows about?

Dear Liz,

Why are you running against an incumbent conservative Republican US Senator wasting needless resources and causing needless division?

Don’t you think you could help further the cause by going after the DEMOCRATS instead?

Respectfully,
TBEL

I really cannot think of a reason to support him or her.

Other than the issue pertaining to the Internet tax, I’m not sure what beef GOPers should have with Enzi. With Cheney, much as I like her on many other matters, that affinity for homosexual marriage is a non-starter for me.

Liz Cheney is nuts. According to this poll, Enzi’s favorables are 76% vs. 6% unfavorables and she thinks she can beat him?

Cheney should run in the state she was born in and against a Democrat. We don’t need a bye, we need a win.

Liz Cheney is one of our best potential stars. Why the heck are people beating her up here? She has the same fearlessness her dad has in going after our opponents. Enzi is a fine guy, too, but why the heck do we pile up our own people?

Not as many broke-back cowboys in Wyoming as she thought?

Couldn't she please come to Virginia and run against THIS?

In Wyoming, we’re not that far out. The winner of the GOP primary in August, 2014, has a very strong chance of winning the November election.

Furthermore, if Dave Freudenthal (former Democratic governor of Wyoming) runs in the 2014 senate election, there’s a real contest. Meaning that the winner of the GOP primary has to have enough money and support left to beat Dave in the general election.

Unlike most other Democrats in Wyoming, Dave is a) very popular, b) knows the issues very well, c) has a sound head on his shoulders. He’s shown more balls in taking on the federal government on land, water and wildlife issues than most of the GOP field.

If Dave wins the DNC primary and is running for Enzi’s seat next fall, I’d predict that if Cheney somehow won the primary, she’d cost the GOP the seat because she’s utterly ignorant of the local issues in Wyoming. And living in Jackson will cement the stereotype she’s creating as a rich carpet bagger parachuting in from DC.

She’s great as a talking head and quick on her feet on TV.

She doesn’t know jack about the state issues. She’s not in the front of any crowd of potential best GOP candidates at this point.

What state is this, and what office is the contest for, and when are the elections to be held? Other than that, it was an excellent post.
