The important question is what *part* of the US government would his information harm?

The US government has long engaged in vast amounts of unconstitutional and hostile behavior to just about everyone, both foreigners and US citizens. If this is the part of the government that is harmed, it is a good thing.

And there is so much of this bad behavior, you have to wonder is there any *legitimate* part of the US government he could possibly hurt?

That vast majority of *legitimate* things the US government does is above board, transparent, and not alarming at all to anyone. This could only be hurt if it was also doing something it shouldn’t be.

So the bottom line is to turn the government’s own logic back on itself: “You shouldn’t mind leaks, if you haven’t done anything wrong.”

"Snowden has enough information to cause harm to the U.S. government in a single minute than any other person has ever had," Greenwald said in an interview in Rio de Janeiro with the Argentinian daily La Nacion.

Not the nation, not the people, but the U.S. government....and what is the U.S. government? Just a collection of politicians and bureaucrats feeding on the sweat of its taxpaying citizens.

"The U.S. government should be on its knees every day begging that nothing happen to Snowden, because if something does happen to him, all the information will be revealed and it could be its worst nightmare."

Low-information voters getting a grip of the federal government's constitutionally limited powers is the government's worst nightmare.

The Only way Snowden could do MORE damage than Obama was if he released documents saying that the USA has covered up aliens, and even that wouldn’t be worse than the damage Obummer has done...

I take it that if something happens to Snowden, he has set up a method by which all the information he has will be released. All these secrets will be out for all the world to see. These secrets could be all our CIA operatives, their locations, secret operations, etc, etc, etc.......everything our govt does not want others to know.

“....could become the United States’ “worst nightmare” if revealed, a journalist familiar with the data said in a newspaper interview.”

.
This is the highly biased MSM making such a statement.

Who the hell is the journalist ‘familiar with the data’?

Can he be trusted with it?

"Snowden has enough information to cause harm to the U.S. government in a single minute than any other person has ever had," Greenwald said in an interview...

Notice the phrasing does not "cause harm to "Americans" or "security of America." No, this is more personal.

Greenwald seems to give credence that the damning part exposes a .guv that is misbehaving on a monumental, unimaginative scale. Greenwald could at least have the decency of letting the world know how many times "FEMA CAMP," NEW WORLD ORDER," and "MASS EXECUTION" are mentioned in this volume of indicting info.

How much will our corrupt government pay to have Snowden taken out?

Snowden revelations stir anti-US feeling...
Governments worldwide viewing America as arrogant superpower...

from Drudge

I cannot imagine that this is a shock to anyone in the US. Snowden just made explicit what has been implicit for years.

Snowden has shown al Qaeda that prior to an operation you need to dial 100s or 1000s of non-operatives to set the NSA, FBI and CIA into exhaustive dead end searches for suspects.

Note it mentions harm to the US Govt, not the US itself. Not sure if I trust any of the actors in this drama, though - Govt or Snowden or Greenwald.

Sounds like a bit of Texas Hold’em on the part of Snowden.

Or to quote Dirty Harry - “Make my day”.

Snowden’s dead man’s switch is likely why Russia, aka U.S. intelligence, is now entertaining asylum for him. The longer Snowden can be induced to keep the key inactive, the less damaging the information becomes. For example, give him a dacha and the run of a brothel for the rest of his life versus death if he discloses anything. Lofty principles may melt away.
