Carney to Reporter: 'Read the Federal Register, I Know That'd Be a Lot to Ask'

White House spokesman Jay Carney told a Fox News reporter to "read the Federal Register" in response to whether the president had the authority to change parts of the Obamacare law:

"The ability to postpone the deadline is clear," said Carney.

"I invite you to read the Federal Register," he said. "I know that'd be a lot to ask."

"You'll have to ask me?" the reporter said.

"Yes," said Carney, smirking. "Exactly."

Would it be a lot to ask if Obama has read all of the Obamacare law?

I think it would be a safe bet that only a few, if any, congressmen or senators have actually read the law.

An even safer bet is that Obama has not read any of it - not even one stinking page.

Most elected officials don't read the bills they propose - they figure that's the job of the lobbyists who write them.
