Today, July 2nd, is DAY #17 (of 4th week) State of Florida V. George Zimmerman case.
Today Detective Chris Serino will be back on the stand. [Yesterday ended] on the stand with Chris Serino, who was the lead investigator for the Sanford Police Department on the Trayyvon Martin shooting.
Defense counsel Mark OMara led cross-examination with his usual consummate skill, obtaining responses from this witnessremember, the States witnessthat all but completely guts the States charge in this case.
Among the key revelations so far: Zimmerman was always completely cooperative, open, and straightforward with all the police investigators over many weeks of multiple interviews, both in person at the police station and phone. The sense given is that Zimmerman demonstrated endless patience. (continue reading summary)

AND that he is a cop wannabe.
Pros picked up on GZ statement in Hannity interview that he did not know of “stand your ground.” They want to bring testimony that GZ took a course that included that. Defense objected for relevance.
Judge is going to allow this is, but, it’s nuts because “stand your ground” is not part of the case, is it?
just dawned on me this is a nexus to guaranteed Z testifies
Imagine this, it is being allowed.
1324 and 1331
btw after seeing what happened to Serino..wonder if GZ had changed his mind about wanting to be a cop
She is so, I don’t even know the word, just so unprofessional I guess. Her snark and bias is so difficult to watch.
Yep, his classes show he was schooled in police procedure, right? What the heck, will this not be another example of opening to door to his past that will seemingly allow the defense to do the same?
That was almost 200 posts ago! This “thread police” bit is what’s getting old today.
Can someone please chime in as to the likelihood of TM’s past/past schooling being entered?? This is pissing me off.
As has been the entire goal of the prosecution, is GZ testimony through video, statements to police, friends etc. They are presenting GZ testimony without defense opportunity for cross examination.
Anything that benefits the defense will not be allowed.
If he learned anything it should have been to get an attorney.
OM makes the point that pros should not be allowed to open its own door (Hannity interview) then bring testimony to impeach the testimony they brought.
Judge is again arguing the prosecution’s case.
good point by MOM (not that it will go anywhere since this judge is a colossal POS) but, he said they redacted all kinds of stuff from the Hannity interview but left in the SYG stuff so they could enter his school records!!
What they want to do is claim that because he knew the law that he did so for the purpose of trying to skirt it and kill someone and then hide behind it.
Anyone who knows the law would then be at a disadvantage in a legal proceeding because they are immediately suspect.
anyone keeping track of the number of objections sustained by the judge so far?
They are piece mealing information from interviews.
Why is the prosectuion being allowed to impeach GZ testimony which is not testimony in the first place.
btw after seeing what happened to Serino..wonder if GZ had changed his mind about wanting to be a cop

IMHO you sure do seem to be filled with a lot of bitterness toward Zimmerman for some reason.
