I'd like to know what he was doing pointing anything at active combatants. That's just asking for it. Whether they mistake a camera for a weapon, or whether they correctly identify it as a camera but decide you are or might be working for the enemy, they still smoke you.

The rebel side really does not want pics taken that could identify them. The government side really does not want pics taken that would make the govt look bad. It's a tossup as to which side the guy who shot him was at.
