Yes he did...but then Missionaries also do likewise...though I doubt the kid ever thought his life would be in danger since he had such good motives of “helping”..
There are many like him today who do not understand the risk...but they do see the potential glory they might achieve.
I have often wondered why our young people go overseas to assist when there are certainly children and people in this country they could help. But then I guess the USA doesn’t offer the “thrill” of being abroad to them.
Am sorry he lost his life...but I am not surprised any American overseas today could. The nations are unstable..and their are foreigners in every land...in mass.
I agree totally, the time has come to volunteer within the USA and get some kind of credit (maybe academic?) for doing so.
Never heard of foreigners going to an Israeli kibbutz as a volunteer as a laborer and getting hurt...
